Vulturing, as I recall it, is a strategy that was previously quite well-accepted. (I remember Mango and other FRA-friends teaching me the trick.)
It is only by the grace of public opinion, or rather, 'powerful' opinion, that it suddenly is considered an evil act. Remember the 'problem' started to be a problem when during the CIA vs. CoP war some people decided they were being hit too much and too easily by people that weren't involved in a war.
Essentially, 'vulturing' has become 'bad' because it damages the pure statistics of war. Since people have become so affectionate with their numbers and the pure statistical results of war (which will
never be accurate) they decided it was bad for people to attack 'sideways'. A structural flaw in their thinking was that they ignored the fact that they themselves
had to hit others, not in their war, to keep their naquadah supplies secured. Hitting others would open them up to being hit back by an increasing amount of people. Therefore, a powerful group of players decided to act all angry and threatening, using texts like
"Oh! You Nub! You Vulture me! I am In War!11! Look on forum nub! ima Massing you!" to cause fear in the hearts of lesser men. Regretfully, and a tear runs down my cheek, people fell for these threats and looked on the forums to find "vultures" defined as "very evil cheaters who attack players who are in war", no less. Bowing their heads in shame and fear, they admitted their wrongdoings and decided to call everyone "vulture" that they were attacked by.
Sad, sad days.. I actually remember this being a wargame.. not one where 'wars' prevented people from attacking others. For crying out loud.. it is a wargame.. global domination can only be achieved by defeating everyone else. Farm like your lives depend on it, for by Jove! they do. Your account needs to farm. It is like your body needing to breathe. Growth needs to come at the expense of
everyone else, except your ingame family.
As for the question, it's pointless, as I stipulated before, when A hits anyone, they have to live with hits back, and not get their darned behinds on the forums to whine about it. *points fingers*
If it were as the first option suggests, that would mean A can farm with impunity. That, dear friend, is the clearest BS I ever read aside from some comments elsewhere. Given A's power over the rest of the alphabet is huge, that would be possible.. but given A's power as 'mediocre', one cannot help but wonder at the nerve of people to claim that "they cannot be hit".

Then again.. perhaps I am too Ancient for the kind of whining that is required to make 'vulturing' bad. Lose your def, lose your naq. Whether it is to your enemy in official war, or to your general enemy ingame.. doesn't matter.
