Well USA would be outnumbered if it took on the entirety of europe. The if you want throw out quality, the quality of the UK's armed forces and switzerland is by far the best in the world. Both in europe. so. I reckon it would take both sides one hell of a fight to take the mainland of either side. They are both pritty large, I suppose in america generally every citizen has some form of fire arm (you are born with them right? I know most other humans have just a placenta, but americans do come out with a hand gun as well, im sure I saw that on discovery once..). So yeah.

the problem with trying to take America would be, all of us hillbillys come out with our shotguns and fight.

We don't all have handguns, but we know where to get them if they're needed

US vs Europe would be epic and probably fought over the Atlantic in a giant naval and air conflict. US's navy is about as big as Europe's combined navy (maybe larger, need to check) and likely the same with the Air Forces, both very advanced. This would be a true test of strategy and tactics. May the best general win ;D

i didnt come out with a gun, i came out with a magic sword and an immunity to bullets. much better!

as for the war, i'll probably be in Japan when it happens. so...i win

hmm ... would the whole thing go nuclear, ... who'd have the best advantage(s) ??

I'd bet America will have quite a few nukes more to simultaniously launch, where as Europe would have several country leaders having to make descisions over their weaponry.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US suddenly already has a real "Star wars" program up and running for anti-nukery

lol..america would never take the UK. Only one enemy has set foot on our coast since 1066 and they lasted the whole of 12minutes. (Germans in WWII, we basically melted them as they came up the shore..so they didnt even really get on our land) and jack old chum, america wouldnt get through europes military. The british do have the best technology and military precision out of the two and thats a testament from american soldiers. America would put up a great fight and I have no doubt it would be close, but I think in the end they'd lose.

Your not allowed to use Nukes, they have to be the LAST resort and a war has to have gone on for over 4 years. Americans wouldnt nuke everyone why would they kill themselves (if they nuked everyone else everyone else in the world would nuke the USA), END their lives just cos they may get conquered. Its not as if the europeans would make them all slaves when we'd won. You'd just get a new government and a slap on the wrist. Even you lot cannot be THAT stupid..I know the rest of the world jokes and all...

And who the hell would stop us, if the entire world was waging war against us, then nukes would be a last resort, there's no way we'd win a war against the planet, and Americans would just as soon die, then be occupied.


Remember, if there was a war in which the entire planet was pitted against the U.S. the rules and everything else, including our own sanity, would be vastly different. Another American civil war is more likely then a war against Europe.

You wouldnt even be occupied. Maybe for a few years..but its not as if england care about anyone else in the world (and you know we'd most likely be heading the war cos lets face it..french a women, germans always lose and everyone else in europe well..no offense guys, history talking there not me)..we just do what we do to look good to some..then put as little effort in as possible.

actually... that fella was william the conqueror duke of normandy, he invaded and conquerd england. so technically england is still under norman ocupation.

You actually think this is a debate? Well lets put some key factors here:

1: America vs Europe is vague, how do you define Europe? Is Russia in the equation? Is Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the various other eastern European/Asian countries, does Turkey count?

Lets just say Europe is the EU plus most countries within those boundaries, I.E. Removing Russia and its more eastern neighbors out of the equation.

So running of that you have the United Stats Versus the EU who's main players would be Italy, France, Germany and England. The other countries would probably be taking orders from these powerhouses, or at least their contributions would be so little in comparison its not really much of a bother to put them in, lets put them in the group called the EU jr.

Again lets be fair and remove Nuclear weapons from the equation, obviously those put a slight damper on the war seeing as it would last about a day before the literal apocalypse. Also we remove the US troops from Germany as well they'd probably be eradicated.

So now we have the EU and most of the neighboring countries versus the United States, Nuclear weapons excluded and the smaller EU states lumped into a single factor. EU Jr, so there we have it. The tables set and were ready for war.


The United States Military has the highest budget, arguably the highest technological advancements, and oh Europe's newest best fighter, which is being designed here. The United States also has a large civilian force consisting of police, national guard and local militia that literally means we can empty our soldiers out of the country and maintain control while having the defenses to defend our nation from invasion, most European countries cannot boast this. United States also has the highest missile capabilities, more and more accurate missiles then anyone on earth. In air power the United States is also once more on top, from Stealth Fighters and Bombers to their newest fighter the Raptor the United States greatest weakness would be in the quality of their land forces in comparison to Europes, as well as the Tank technology, which many European nations have quite a good tap on.

The United States would be literally able to missile every square inch of any LZ needed in Britain to begin the invasion of Europe. As I said systematic bombings by fighters unable to be seen by even the most advanced RADAR upon British cities would be catastrophic, and then unlike the Germans the US would go ahead and bomb your country side which its planes do have enough fuel to enter. With its food gone and its population demoralized the UK would not be a good time to invade, instead sit back and let relief efforts start. Every time its halfway through the US would just do it again, crushing the UK's possibility on local food, starvation will be rampant.

After a few months of this the US would do another major bombing run, Napalm and missile attacks on every major British city and farm land. The US navy would then send in our carrier groups to do battle with the English navy, once more using our superior stealth technology upon your smaller fleet to slowly destroy it. British counter attacks would be minimal, the likely hood of them surviving all the way to the US is minimal, they could destroy a few cities but never be able to reap the damage we could from bases in Iceland.

As for your invasion theories there Semper. you forget while there may have been no attacks upon ENGLANDS soil the British have always had an empire, which means every war fought in Afghanistan, India, various parts of Asia count in invasions of British soil. So yes..There were of course other attacks while not invasions, a little humiliating.
