Does race play an important role on ascension for you?

Because it doesn't for me.
Whilst I'm very much aware of the fact that the main server is now a server of alliances, rather than races, I'm also aware that many players are still extremely conscious of what race their account is and take some pride in roleplaying accordingly. I myself have gotten quite into being an evil Omega System Lord from time to time; but the fact I'm an 'Indu' on ascension seldom crosses my mind.
So, I'm curious, are any of you at all bothered by what race you are on ascension?

Nope, probably because the main races actually have something to do with the stargate series.

Apart from the differences in bonusses, not a bit.
Same as what v1per says, I have no affinity with the so called ascended races.

I do, I chose AJNA because of what the story when ascending on the page said, not only the balanced bonuses.

Ah. That's cool.
I've also come across a few people who picked 'Ori' because of their role in SG mythology.

When I first ascended I didnt care about the names...
I picked the race which granted the best chance of catching up (highest starting stats - Indu I believe at the time)

actually I think it would be pretty cool if each race
Indu, Tolah, Ori and the other one Zookies or whatever
all had 5% bonus to different stats
e.g.
Strike, Defence, Covert, Assasins just to make the races slightly different...
and also a -5% to the opposite stat
so if you had 5% strike bonus you would have -5% defence bonus and so on
just to mix the server up a bit!

I had to go look at my ascended race if that tells you anything.

other ascended races
Ajna, Indu, Ori & Tollan are the 4 races you can choose from when you first ascend... each time you ascend it gives you the choice of picking but it only applies on the first ascension.

Think he means, who?
Like we all know who the ORI are, and most would know that the TOLLAN are a lovely advanced race who walk through walls and like cats...

I picked my race because of the stats, (i think its Tolah, but not sure). But other than that, I couldn't care less about it.

I picked Ori because I like their evilness within the series and because it's quite an natural and good opponent of my Ancient form

What was the name for the that again? Yi and Yang?
