Destroy Military Requiring a War setting

how about we only allow destroy military to occur with when you have someone set to war?

thats the second time someone has done that in as many weeks... no war declaration and no way to discover who it is...
So I propose War declaration must be made to do the following
Military Operations: Destroy, Hunt Assassins
Assassin Operations: Destroy Intelligence, Destroy Military
Ascended Being Action: Assault X Directly
In a similar way you cant god quest etc when set to peace...
that way all those attacks can stay as they are just people cant do it and hide behind sending in 500mill assasins etc

that is a very good idea
fortunatly it hasn't happened to me yet(they were all foolish enough to attack right after)

I'm of the mentallity that if you want to destroy someone you set them to war so they know who they annoyed so much

nah... the point of ascended is the "elite of the elite" duke it out ascended being vs ascended being and flex our cosmic powers...
not hide behind assassins...

perhaps the war declaration could not be a prerequisite, but be an automatic and immediate result of a destroy military attack (maintain somewhat of an element of surprise).

or if when they attacked rather than it working on there assasin power over my assassin/covert power there was just a 33% chance it would display the name...
after all I could throw 1billion assasins in and assassinate anyone and get away with it... then untrian them and carry on...
right now its just too easy to destroy stuff perhaps because of 1 dmu hit or just for the fun of it because you know they cant catch you out...

Im with Lord_Zeus, It is a covert operation and should remain so.
Trying to assasinate anyone with a decent assasin cost the attacker millions of assassins so is not a free or even cheap operation.
Players need to learn to balance their accounts, if you have a lot invested in Military units then there should be a similar amount invested into Assassin.
I personally normally Assassin about 4 times then send a message to non sniper accounts. Sniper accounts it is pointless to do anything other than destroy all you can and deascend if possible.

i dont mind it staying secret, if you crit they will get caught anyway. My problem is assasinate is too powerful. Who uses weapondry to mass anymore? assasinate is faster, cheaper, and viable. massing with weapondry is not even viable anymore.

indeed last night I got a little crazy and built a 2 quint strike on ascended... nobody was safe from my wrath (well thoes with larger defences and allies)
So I soon get caught by one of the people and destroy millitary hits me in the face...
my networked planets (100mill) get thrashed to maybe 50 mill left
thats in 10 hits of destroy millitary... over night someone finishes off the last 50mill...
so in ten hits being able ot destroy 250mill planets is definately overpowered... espcially as they are generally 90% immune to the person being destroyed actually getting there name...

I did go dark side and train 500mill planets into strike for some crazy fun
but the other destroy military came out of no where and I wasn't expecting it... the one where I went crazy farming I knew it was coming

This is why I really do not want to weaken Assassins.
There are two sides to the coin.
Why make it easier for the Sniper Accounts?
Not many will Assassin another player with a decent Assassin without Hunting Assassins first, since the losses will be so high.
So by keeping Assassin like it is, it means a Sniper needs Defence and Assassins also to protect their Strike like any normal civilization would.
It would be like changing it in Main to kill Anti agents since they are too effective against a player with no defence.
I have only used Assassins in War, to Maximize the damage often had to Hunt Assassins first. Many times alternating between hunting and killing militiary. What I saw as many have (not in Lores case) that players did not understand they needed Assassins to protect themselfs so had very low Assassins at the beggining.
