I'm looking for a guide for Defcon Lvl's to teach Noob's/newbies what each level means and what precautions/preparations they should make according to which level.

basically if we are totally honest we would say smth like

put it to critical if in WAR
- 75% boost and the highest delay on the attack + lowest amount of attacks on you before you phase

The remaining levels are there basically only to regulate your income...or in other terms if you dont want to get your full income but wouldnt want to get the minimum with having a critical

For anything more check the FAHQ thread!

yeah wat he said..

if ur defence is small and when u go to sleep plz usually hit u to stop that.. u increase the lvl so u can reduce ur income but increase ur covt and defence.. in war u go high on critical so that u produce very low income so that enemy doesnt hit u often.

but can sum1 tell me about that blackhole thing.. i have seen suim people in it... they say u dont getturns or proce naq for 2 days..?

Let's not get things mixed up here... :)

Delay between attacks and maximum number of successful attacks against you are the Nox's work.
Realm alert drains 10%/20%/40%/70% of your income; in exchange, it increases your defensive covert by that percentage - this means it will be that much harder for people to see/spy/sab you, but it will not change your ability to see/spy/sab others or affect your covert ranking.

The cusp of the black hole is just a fancy way of saying they are on vacation mode. While on vacation mode, nothing happens in your realm - you don't get turns, naq, UU - but can't be attacked either. And it's minimum 2 days before you can leave vacation mode.

I had a pretty good version of the defcon system at Alpha forums... If you ask them nicely, they might give it to you:)

Actually not correct...

NOX turns on the phase effect but critical will make sure the phasing comes pronto...the higher the defcon the faster the phase and bigger the delay between attacks...
NOX just turns it on...
