My income is a bit lower than it should be. I have no officers, no commander, nox and critical is turned off, and banner ads are turned on. I have tried making myself a commander then dismissing and tried turning nox and critical on a off. Still no improvement. Any help would be appreciated.

This happens to me, I find if you wait a few turns it magically goes back up to where it was. Im being 100% serious too.

Maybe its because I got descended and didn't realize it. lol.

Yup, ascended bonus works for income as well as stats, so that would explain the drop in income
