Making Stargatewars Economics more Sophisticated

I've got a little idea that could make the whole trading and financial aspect of Stargatewars much more complex, based on the real life system that the UK uses.
The idea comes in two parts.
Firstly, everyone's bank would give interest upon the Naq stored in it.
This would create a more significant trade-off between spending naq or saving it.
Secondly, an in-game Central Bank of Stargatewars would be created. This would be a council of players, who every month vote upon what the interest rates for the banks would be.
The idea is that the Central Bank then uses this power to regulate the market. Inflation in Stargatewars is evident, and the Central Bank's main job would be to ensure a reasonable rate of inflation.
They would do this by controlling the rate at which interest is gained on savings. The higher the interest rate, the more attractive it is to save, and the less people will trade, and visa versa.
In this way, if the Bank believes that prices are rising too quickly, they can increase the interest rate and people will save more and trade less. Demand in the market will fall, and traders will be forced to lower prices to find a buyer. On the other hand, if prices are stagnant they can do the reverse.
Who the players are in the Central Bank could be chosen in a number of ways.
They could be the top 30 ranked players in the game. They could be the 30 players with the largest army sizes. Or they could be elected positions.
So that's the idea.
