New Rule Discussion: Image size

Section 4d.
Image size.
Images larger than 600 pixels wide need to be posted inside of a ‘spoiler box’.
Consequence:
A mod will place your image inside a spoiler box. Repeat offenders will be given one warning point.

does this 600px dimension also apply to vertical size? at the moment it says '600 pixels wide' and is a little misleading, especially if your one to bend the rules to your favour.

it might be a good idea to forbid a certain height as well... say 2k pixels high...

2k pixels high?????!!!!!
I'd say smaller - monitors with 2k vertical pixels are not that common, therefore what's the point?

2k is quite a lot, for a 21inch monitor..
Maybe more like 600 as well or so?

we said 2k to have it quite large, yet not too large... after all, it is common to scroll vertically for text and such, but not sideways...
the number was a random suggestion... its not as if our monitor is that large... (if it was, we'd have found some way to turn it sideways to get a wide screen...)

I guess we can add something if you like but keep in mind vertical doesn't really matter. You have to scroll to read a thread anyway. Is everyone ok with 2k?

user control panel/board preferances/display settings
toggle the "display images within post"......
also if i remember correctly i believe php has the ability to "resize" a linked image.... i wouldn't swear too it but that might not be a bad alternative....
