I used to do medieval reenacting (14th, 15th Century), we were a noble's household from Burgundy (actually Flanders, but that's a matter of detail).
It was much fun, and to anyone with a vivid imagination and a love for history, I would suggest trying it sometime.

It's something I've always been interested in doing, but I don't really have the free time for it at the moment. Perhaps in the summer.
A few years ago, however, I was lucky enough to catch a reenactment of Battle of Bosworth Field. It was brilliantly done. Everybody was in full historical attire, and they even had cannons. It was quite an experience.

I don't do reenactments but I did watch the reenactment of the Battle of the Monitor and the Merrimack.

I do medieval reenactement... usually varying from 13-15th century.
Favourite weapons sword + shield and depending on the century, wearing either chain mail or plate armour.
It's a lot of fun and I've been doing it last 8 years and never had enough of it... even tho you get few bruises there and there from time to time.
