max height of signatures?

do you annoy yourself whenever you have to scroll through a page or so in height, just making up one persons signature?

if so, do you think some limit should be placed on the total height?

if you do not care, dont vote...
if you think such a limit should be there, what sort of height should it have? (feel free to discuss)

I'd imagine somewhere around 700-800 pixels max for an entire sig. That's plenty of room.

The whole point of a signature block is that it is there to identify you, like your own signature does - so it shouldn't need to be huge. Why some people need sigs that take up an entire page is beyond me, and means that we sometimes spend more time scrolling through a topic than we do reading it.

So yes, some kind of limit is warranted.

one solution for those that absolutely have to have 7 different sigs active...
get some sigmaker to glue them together into one animated sig, with each image showing for say 5 seconds, then switching to the next one... then 5 sec & next... and so forth...

that shouldnt be difficult... after all, people do it with userbars...

actually ifrit, you're such a good example...

there were rules on this previously, but for some reason they were removed...

also ifrit, you're not alone in having a huge sig...

and this thread isnt on a future rule (yet?)... its only asking whether the community thinks such rule should exist again...

whatever

People are complaining about spending less then 30 secs scrolling pages...
could you point me to some profiles that have more then 3 or 4 sigs, cause I acually tryed fitting another and it said "Your signature has reached max characters. You can only have 359 characters max."

Having to scroll down a full page of sigs is just silly....didn't there used to be a rule that it was two sigs maximum?

And I have taken his advise and removed all avy/siggies from my forum experiance and it is so much neater, easier, and faster. I suggest anyone having issues with someones sets do one of these two options.

I agree with this 100%

I just changed my setting, and now I don't see avatars or signatures. Much cleaner looking forum, and takes less time to load that usual (I'm on adls but I'd really recommend dial-up users to do this also).
