Punishing Minor Cheaters Poll

How about if a minor cheater is caught, the following actions are taken.
1) Once a cheat has been verified, the cheat account is locked away from its user and suspended for a week.
2) Location (in game name) of cheating account is disclosed to the general public of SGW forums.
3) Locked cheater account is open for farming for that whole period of suspension.
4) Once suspension lifts, account is immediately placed into PPT.
What do you think?

Doesn't this already happen to a degree? It used to at least - players were locked out, while the account was ostracised and open to attack.
The problem of formalising it is that you're potentially heaping a load of work on the Admins - and I don't just mean in coding, but in monitoring the situation as well.
It would punish the cheater - but it would also effectively be giving people something for nothing, rather than playing the game.
It would also lead to more fraudulent calls of cheating in an attempt to get certain people locked out.
Could potentially cause more problems than it's worth.
Staying on the fence.

Well, it's my general stance on suggestions that don't really affect gameplay - which this one doesn't.
It's a decent enough suggestion to try and deter cheats - but the potential fall-out from it could be to the detriment of the game...
...hence the rather uncomfortable position on the fence. Perhaps I could have a really thick wall with a built in pool instead?

I like this idea!
Queston though, will the cheater's def. be put to 0?

may i join you in the pool? not the fence.

you have more experience than me wolf. i'm seeing things with new eyes. you know this game better than I do. I just felt that since one person's cheating in a community like SGW results in everyone having been cheated, then all of SGW has right to recompense.

No demon lord... the account is laid open to farming already. no need to add insult to injury by having admin delete the defense. besides, sooner or later, the Naq stored will grow very big and bigger accounts who notice will start massing. then the smaller players can come in.

Question from me being:
What do you consider a "minor" cheater? (hidden sub question: what is limit between minor and major cheater?)

Well pop, minor cheating can be multi accounts. Major are those accounts that try to edit/hack their stats/resources.
since a hacked account's resources will most likely be deleted, then there won't be much to farm or raid. Not to mention that if they are proven to be true hacks, then they will be deleted anyway.
So the minor cheats in this instance will be the multies.

Well as long as all multies are deleted and only "main" one remains after punishement, I can accept this...
