With all the new graphics enhancements that have been made to the game over the last few months, why not give some more? The new Control Panel is much nicer, with smoother looking buttons and a "friendlier" interface, with the banners adding to the effect. The main page was redesigned for a more Stargate feel, and is working very well from feedback that I have read.

I would propose that a background be given to the main server, such as the ascended server has, with Ajna having stars and Tolah clouds. Each of the eight races would have a different style that would suit each race, just like in the ascended server. This would add to the color of the game instead of the same black, which does get boring after a while. An option would also be put in place that would allow users to toggle the background, like the Control Panel and banners.

Please vote you opinion on this matter and post your reason for choosing the choice you chose.

P.S.: I was not sure if this goes under game enhancements or some sort of graphics enhancement section, but if this is in the wrong thread, I am sorry, and would a moderator please be able to move it to the appropriate area.

I wouldn't mind. As long as it didn't make anything hard to read.

it also needs to be somewhat simple... in order to make it quick and easy to load...

those are the two problems. the more elaborate your graphics are, the slower the loading time. because graphics will add different colors to background, text readability is sure to suffer. perhaps a water marked background? it can be done, but the water mark will have to be almost at maximum settings to make the background seem solid so that text readability stays the same. maximum water mark makes background image invisible. so, you have an almost invisible background and your load time increases because of the almost invisible background.

even so, i'd go yes with the background graphics provided that there is an option button to toggle background on or off.

I like the idea, all of the recent graphic improvements have been beutifully done I think. The only thing I would ask is the ability to turn it off, like the banners, or the new control bar in the player options area.

most of the ideas people are adding i have already suggested, like making the text easily readable and the ability to turn it off.

Like the idea, keep it possible to revert back to plain SGW and it's all good.
