Farming - a term used too freely!

Stop farming me!

I'd appreciate it if you stopped farming me.

I'd appreciate it if you stopped farming my officer.

Just 3 quotes from messages received in my inbox over the last couple of days - the last 2 from an officer and his commander.

Now, if I am farming someone, and they ask me to lay off then I generally do, and also give them advice on how best to try and avoid being farmed.

But with the above quotes, after checking my logs for the various people concerned I see that in the last 10 days I had 'farmed' each person in question a total of 2 times each!

Is that farming? Or is it simply making naq attacks because they have less than a 20 billion defence with over 8 billion naq out?

It isn't farming - pure and simple!

Farming is a term used too easily these days - and just because someone has been attacked twice, or even 5 or more times, it isn't farming.

Farming is when the same person is being targetted by the same player constantly, numerous times a day, over a period of many days.

Not just because someone attacks them a couple of times.

Come on people!

As a pretty active farmer, Wolf, I know exactly where you're coming from. People are using the term far to liberally, and saying something is farming - when it most definately isn't.

To be honest, I don't even believe that the definition on the wiki side is accurate, put that's my personal opinion.

Actually, now that I'm checking, it's always the smaller people who are complaining. Anyone else who I hit regularly tries to increase their defense, and doesn't say a whole lot. I guess that's the perks for high tier farming Vs. low tier? Not too sure.

So you have a few options, I suppose. Ignore messages, which while it seems like a rather rude play, it's kinda handy. Or, write it clear in your planets? =P

This is when a player hits someone more then 3 times. Some alliances and players say that 5-10 times is farming, but the majority say that when hitting someone 3 times in a short amount of time such as a week or less would be farming.

Thats usually what I use when I see someone in attack logs. Minimum of 3 hits to be farming.

Same here.

Those who say I am farming them after one hit only, get their behinds handed to them. Usually. Well.. that's not happened much yet. But meh. You get the idea.

Its the nature that this game has taken due to over protective commanders and alliances. I agree with your thread JMX 3 times or more is farming. 1 or 2 hits within 2 weeks is just an attack. CO's and alliances need to realise this and stop over protecting their officers/members or all they are going to have are a bunch of whiners on their hands. When I used to have officers and they got hit like this I used to just tell them to either raise their defences or bank more often and not whine to me about it.

Wolf359 just ignore these messages they aren't worth the reading time I used to laugh at them now I cant be bothered to read them.
