Pfft! No mention of the Floyd? Damn second rate properganda printing presses :P

Each to his/her own playstyle. If people want to mass, let them. If people want to build stats, let them. Massing runs the risks of retaliation and closing doors while building stats means you have a lot of collateral.

Either way people need 'bad guys' to remind themselves of how good they are or to keep things interesting. They define us and it is conflict and through facing adversity that we challenge ourselves and find a sense of achiement and self improvement.

[spoiler]Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: Why? What's wrong with me?
Priest Vito Cornelius: I try to serve life. But you only... seem to want to destroy it.
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: Oh, Father, you're so wrong. Let me explain.
[closes office door, places an empty glass on desk]
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: Life, which you so nobly serve, comes from destruction, disorder and chaos. Take this empty glass. Here it is, peaceful, serene and boring. But if it is...
[pushes glass off table]
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: destroyed...
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: [robot cleaners move to clean broken glass] Look at all these little things. So busy now. Notice how each one is useful. What a lovely ballet ensues so full of form and color. Now, think about all those people that created them. Technicians, engineers, hundreds of people who'll be able to feed their children tonight so those children can grow up big and strong and have little teeny weeny children of their own, and so on and so forth. Thus, adding to the great chain... of life.
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: [Desk prepares a glass of water and a bowl of fruit] You see, Father, by creating a little destruction, I'm actually encouraging life. In reality, you and I are in the same business. Cheers.[/spoiler]

that's right sev. to each their own. but they mass you because you're not playing the way they think the game should be played. add to the fact that a couple of moderators are also part of this bully group. this is just plain wrong. what would admin say if a couple of people quit the game because they were bullied? plus... a couple of moderators were also in on the bullying?

Learn the vital lessons of life people its balance. Without one the other has no purpose in life so can not exist.

Look at the facts in sgw: GA/CoP bullies where eventually balanced by CiA
TLE bullies - balanced by zion
FUALL - TJP both are seen as bullies but yet also as friends therefor balanced

Its shown in the circle of life that every living being has its purpose. If one falls away the cirlce is distrubed therefor the balance is gone.

Some people need to pay better attention at school ;)

this is BS. teaching is supposed to help and advance you. how do you advance someone by massing them? you're setting them back. you're forcing them to play the way you want them to play. and you're a moderator.

And likewise the argument is made that people aren't "allowed" to mass without an unwritten guide and indepth presentation of justification. That is using moral laws and rules not part of the game to enforce a passive playstyle with such shame threads as these to apply pressure to an agressive playerbase to conform to their own softer playstyle.

People expect and demand these unwritten protection and bindings instead of dealing with and getting over attacks for profit or pleasure in a wargame.

The argument goes both ways. However and sadly, far too many people want everyone walking one direction in a two way street.

Simply put, people like to be agressive, people like to be defensive. However 99% of the focus has been on pacifying and stamping out any sort of direct or brutal behaviour and condeming it as an unwarrented playstyle that has no place within this game. Now when a group of people play the game in what should be an equally valid playstyle, there is an outcry because certain players have grown too lax, soft and content with their lot and invest too much emotion in their numbers believing that no one has the right to take them away.

As for moderators, that argument can be applied to any mod in any alliance who masses or does something to a player that they don't like. It is not restricted to just the educators and they are well within their rights to play the game in the way they see fit. In the past there has been a seperation of duties between ingame and forum and they are players and posters too who should be able to act as they wish like every other person ingame.
