Why to people randomly set me to peace?

Just an obscure thing I was wondering. I have had a few people set me to peace for no reason apparent to me. They weren't in any alliance, I hadn't any prior contact or attacks either way... Just curious. Do they go around setting random people to peace? Is there value to doing this?

sometimes ppl do it:
out of fear...
randomly
to stop previous attacks
and so on
just accept it and be thankful its not war !

yeah people can see that peace button and click your set randomly to 'please have my assurance we have an agreement you must not do to much damage' so dont mass em to big or nothen

i use it to mark accounts not raidable or farmable...
