yeah, saw that on the early show this morning. they said that it was bystanders syndrom where they see everyone around them doing nothing so they do nothing either because they arent sure if its needed or whatever. but i think i wouldve done something anyway

i still can't understand how only one person reacted the way i would have expected everyone too!
i think its the fact that people move too fast and don't notice/choose to ignore certain things,and also see/hear what they want!

That's just an excuse, instead of manning up and saying "Oh I royally **Filtered** up there" they try to blame it on everything else.
I'm so **Filtered** sick of all these "syndromes" that people pull out of their ass to shift blame.

I wonder if they would expect people to help them if they were hit by a car
That is terrible to see, but, the cops got there pretty quickly...pity it wasn't an ambulance though

http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/editorials/hc-madchief.artjun06,0,3673888.storyIts real - the guy is now paralyzed and was/is a local person from the neighborhood..
trust me, people dont drive that fast in that neighorhood.. I commute through there often.
Best wishes to the family and may they catch those two morons racing.. I feel kinda bad for the person that saw it and didnt stop.. they must feel really bad..not that anyone was gonna help him.. he wasnt paralyzed cuz people didnt drag him out of the road immediately.

In the state I live in, It the law to stop for pedistrians even if they are jay-walking, they have the RIGHT OF WAY and it should be like that in every state.
Stuff like this is tragic and very disturbing. Best wishes to his family & loved ones. Its sad to hear what happened to him, hope that he recovers.

There are studies on this type of negligence somewhere...
There are a certain ammount of people who cannot act for themselves in a situation like this. They simply look around them to read the reactions of other people and wait for them to take action first.
Imagine if you will;
we herd a large group of these people into a crowded caffeteria and set it on fire. They look around at their peers, back and forth. They smell and see smoke but no one is running for an exit. No one is trying to run for their life so the average person in that group says to themself, "Hey, must not be that bad! I don't see anyone in a panic." These types of people would literally burn to death there.
Same principle on this street.
When you see someone on the road with a smoking engine, one of the first thoughts in your mind might be, "I'm sure he has help on the way."
Well, what if he doesn't? You passed right by him and chances are the next person who does will think the same thing.
Its **Filtered** wierd;
sometimes people of are incapable of doing anything.

those are the ppl who get shot round where i live, i dont live in a pretty neighborhood but we protect ourself and our own. no one should let another individual lay there without any help, no matter the circumstances esp if they were just hit by a car damn it
