Attack System

I've been playing this gamefor quite a while, so I'm not a newb, but i was wonderring exactly how attacks/defends are calculated.
For example, I have about 1bill defensive action now, but I consistantly deal 800k dmg to those attacking me, and am beat out by ppl with half number of soldiers.
Some things I know:
1. It isn't due to rank adjustment, these ppl are higher rank than me.
2. It isn't differring qualities of soldiers...I'm comparing supers to supers, all with the most powerful weapons of their race.
3. It isn't motherships, because I've checked the logs.
4. I don't think that it is the Tauri attk bonus, b/c not all the ppl farmign on me are Tauri, and even if they were, I don't think that the bonus doubles their strike action.

Generally, if someone has a total strike larger than your defence, you will lose.
Of course, the closer the "gap" between the higher strike and the smaller defence, the more chance any randomness will give the defenders the victory, but also motherships can add offense too.

If you're telling me that it takes 7500 armed supers for a Tauri to have 1.2billion offensive action, then I might just quit this game.
Also, I know it's not motherships, I checked the logs...I think that I said that before...
Finally, I know that in general the higher one wins (everyone knows that), but I'm asking specifically how the damage is calculated, because it is the dmg that is compared, not the actions.
SOOO, I guess I'll ask questions which specifically relate to what I want to know:
How does action translate to damage, and vice versa?
How large is the random factor?
Are there race bonuses or penalties on defence, or offense similar to the hidden rep mission bonusses, that don't figure into the action?
In a completely super on super battle, should we expect the person dealt the larger amount of dmg to suffer the most casualties?

take both peoples action, apply a random variable of up to 50% on both.
take into effect a bonus attacking up. and decrease attacking down.
and thats your basic atk/def results.
i don't think there's alot more than that that can effect battles.
at 5k supers equiped as a replicator, i had 300-400 million strike. tau'ri have both a third siege tech, and stronger weapons, i wouldn't really be surprized if some have gotten 1.2 bil strike with 7500 supers...

Well, I guess this is goodbye then. I don't see the problem though. I am not going to say "If it takes 7500 armed supers for an Asgard to have 1.2 billion defence etc etc".
I'll try to anwer this, I don't know the rest.

Not always. I have had victories by 200 million and had more casulties than the defender, and vice versa (lost and had less casulties than the defender).

I can tell you that 7500 supers with x-302's wouldn't equal 1.2 billion. Only about 920 million. So yeah.......don't know what's up with that.

ah, the one thing i didn't know here.
could be a + modifier on attacking up that gave it 1.2 billion.
and i don't remember seeing the regular damage modifer going above 100%
i don't really experiment with the rank/damage modifiers.
most of what i know, i get from others.

I guess that I didn't realise how high the Tauri bonus is, but it's sort of ridiculous. it's been my latest experience that, as a rep, in order to defend against 7500 Tauri supers with x-302's, I need 17000 supers with rep best weapon. And, even then, a second attack will usually beat the defense, because my weapons are so damaged.
I guess I'll just need the next spy lvl, cause there's no point in trying to build a defense...but I don't know how I'll be able to scrounge 2.3billion for it...
