The Internet is not a public space, hence, it is not subject to general legislation.
The fact that large providers turn to Congress is a symbol to the people: "Look, we also want you guys to feel like we are respecting your current access and while we are completely within our right to change whatever we want to your access, we want to go about our business in a way that involves you, the people".

The issue was and is being misrepresented by certain people in the minority business competition of these giants (other providers), launched among 'enlightened NWO-fighters' under the guise of being yet another example of "Korporate Amerika trying to take over Teh Werld".. gained publicity after being exaggerated more and more, and finally got in touch with the public eye when websites such as the melodramatic "savetheinternet.com" picked up on the hoax and launched it.

The real issue? Providers seek to work together to create a secondary layer to the internet, faster access as the regular internet (which is being bogged down by massive-spam-organizations, such as the famous NWO-fighters, among others..). Such fast and clean internet would come at a higher cost. Naturally. You cannot expect that providers fix the issue of spam bogging down the connection speed of regular users free of charge. That is yet another example of people mistaking usage privileges for 'rights'.
The illusion was created by competition that the creation of such an "UberNet" would cause the breakdown of the 'old' Net, and make users lose connection speed.
In reality, no such speed losses would occur due to the setup of the second net. The "UberNet" (for lack of a better term) would use other lines as the regular Internet, and so would not interact with the regular Internet at any level. This is required to keep the new Net clean; after all, interaction with the spam-ridden internet even affects the primary mainframes at our offices (and believe me.. they have defenses).

Travesty of justice? Hardly.
Melodramatic exaggeration? Totally.

I'm sure he has heard of more things than most, given his line of work.
I am also sure he has the brains to let the important things be important, and to let the unimportant things go by. All this I am sure of after talking to him for quite a while now.
Unfortunately, he has the habit to go and be long-winded when worked up by ignorance. Funny how you two share that characteristic.

Like me, watching the Finals of Euro2008. Then again, I could care less about America. Let them drag themselves down into the mud if they feel that is their place. Personally, I believe corporations that destroy their own market are fools, and since I believe humans usually make sense, I don't believe corporations will destroy their clientele.

In the end, being alive is all that matters, so I could care less whether my internet is 50Mb/s or 25, or 2500.

Ah well.. break is over, time to go back to watching Euro2008.

nawwww, i only watch the club i grew up next to...Arsenal...we was robbed btw, and not for the 1st time

i don't doubt his intelligence but 1 can only form opinions based on knowledge learned/gained and there is much the media is not talking about...could that be because only 5 corporations own all the media in America if not the world, or could it be because those same corporations are getting fat on tax payers money being thrown at them all in the name of peace in the middle east?

why as a brit do i care so much with what happens to the states? if it wasn't for the founding fathers giving the people of the US the constitution and bill of rights we would already be in a one world government.

guys think about this for a moment...

before WW1 and WW2 the USA never had any enemy's, in fact (with the exception of the British Monarchs, who to this day hate what America did to them) everyone loved the states, now they have enemy's all over the world, could that be because the USA has been in 1 war or another every year since the Korean war?

thats right, America has been fighting since Korea and no one asks why

or could it be because America has meddled in the affairs of every single nation on the planet since the Nazi founded and run CIA came into existence??

if the American people knew the truth i'm pretty sure all of congress and the president would be hanging by the neck.

You do realise a single government for the world would make redistributing goods to areas where these are required much easier, right? It would solve the issue of 'currency', be much more adaptive, stronger in research, able to reach for the stars while assuring strength at home..

Again with 'the truth'.. you have no idea how off the mark you are in using that phrase. You come up with conspiracy theories, nothing more, nothing less. Some of them are better argued than others, but saying that any of these are "the truth" is an insult to everything that swears to the Truth and what it stands for.
There are shreds of evidence for evolution, yet it is still a theory.

why would these corperations, that are controled by or have affilation with Rockefeller's, want to control what is broadcasted on your interenet? when you acually think about it you can come up with several ideas that would obviously relate to the control of what information and knowlege would be at your disposal, with that said, why should it be acceptable to control what is and isnt available to the consumer/viewer. That is utter ridiculousness and tbh how isnt it plausable to understand that the shadow goverment operates in secertcy and deception. The only way to have those two elemnts work in their favor is to censor what information and knowledge is provided to you.

To make that possible, the people who invent these theories call them "partial representations of the truth", so that whenever anyone raises a good question, they can start digging around and create the most ludicrous counterarguments.

Ultimately, you don't know your shadow government.
I tell you here and now, that they are Aliens. Big, Bad, Scarey Aliens, with the ability to take any human form they want. Oh yes. And I can defend that theory! I even have proof! (Sadly, the main proponent of my proof is locked away in Penna, but that's a wholly different story.)
Give me time, and I can spin you a web triple the size of your own, with ten times more information and 'proof' of my theory being true. I'll even contact 2 MIT Engineers to confirm my story.

Maybe I can convince my boss to say a few words.. that would be a killer "truth"..

Since I'm a "silly", to believe in kind of gov we mostly have in UE, aka the democarcy...I want to know... :-)

it all comes down to customs and tradition. peoples perception on what form of government is best is not always appliccable to all nations, and considering england went through a feudal era, where the barons/princes etcetera decided what their people wanted. it took us hundreds of generations to accept democracy as we know it today.

This goes for many countries, their ideas of democracy arent the same, for instance the situation in Zimbabwe at the moment. they claim to hold a democracy but Robert Magabe (sp?) has assumed control and is opressing the people. so much so that his only presidential opposition has stepped down in fear for not just his life, but the safety of his supporters.

another example: in my family, 3/4 of the people here (including myself) are legal voters. in Australia, each one of us gets our say. in some countries where it is assumed that the father or the man of the house is the authority, he can decide for the other voters, ie the father goes to the polling booths and claims 3 votes for representative 'X' despite the allegiances of the other two voters to representatives 'Y' and 'Z', that would be completely normal and acceptable. as such if i were to turn and claim that his decision did not represent me, being the eldest son, I would be looked upon in the community as a delinquant, a criminal. These countries would look upon democracy in the western world in Australia, America, England etc. and consider our countries are in a form of anarchy.

now on a larger scale we get feudal England for example with the lords, the baron, the princes etcetera deciding for their representative land and populace. on an even larger scale we get a similar situation to Zimbabwe.

i personally like democracy where everyone gets a say as opposed to the 'head of the house' concept and even greater. my personal feelings on the zimbabwe elections are that it isnt a true democracy, but providing my examples, what is democracy?

simple answer? we cant define democracy. We can define our perception of democracy though. Kind of sad though. I also personally feel we take our form of democracy for granted.
