Vista Says the Darndest Things...

Just decided to copy a relatively un-large file (0.99mb), from a disc to my desktop, when Vista decided to give me a hint as to how long it should approximately take...
By my calculation... should have the file successfully copied by the year 2142.
It's all good, I'll be the ripe old age of 157. It better be worth the wait.
Vista, vista, vista. Why oh why did you come with my laptop

with 1MB/s it's odd it takes that long
With 1ko/s it would be like 8 days
With 1octet/s it would take 22 years
So your vista is flawed o_o

its kinda sad really... >.<
i installed vista in a dual boot with XP to see what i thought if it, and honestly i havent looked back. infact, im in the process of preparing to uninstall XP fully. Vista plays all my games, it runs smoothly for me, and has minimal if any dramas.
saddens me to see things like this....

Hope you're planning to wipe vista and install Linux? >_>
Or at the very least an illegally pirated version of XP?
kinda odd that it's copying the whole 695MB of the disc if you just tried to copy an 0.99MB file :/
I might actually get an illegal version of vista one of these days just to poke fun at how much it sucks in comparison to my elitist Linux/E17 setup that I'm working in right now ^_^ But then again, no other human would have a clue how to use my setup so... >_>

I despise Microsoft. -_-

From what I have seen, the people who complain the most about Vista are those who have yet to install it. A friend of mine and a relative of Nuto's owns a computer service company. One of their jobs is looking after School supplied laptops. Lots of lappies from a school that lets the students take them home at night...
"DANGER DANGER Will Robinson!"Needless to say these students completely and utterly destroy these things and he averages 200 disk re-images a term. Of all those laptops that came back crawling with viruses, all were XP except for one. From a security standpoint, Vista "pwns" XP six ways from Sunday. And comparing the starting out bugs that XP had to those of Vista, you really don't have a leg to stand on.
Only issue thus far has been x64 compatibility issues. I'll be tweaking Vista when my HDX arrives but until then I'll be looking over Nuto's shoulder and laughing at Vista's quirks
Lovingly of course

indeed. however i do know someone who did use vista and didnt like it, i beleive because it was an OEM install and the company didnt give the user an admin account, i beleive for warranty purposes.
good thing i know how to set it up correctly myself rather than relying on some OEM halfwit. and as i said before, ive never looked back, vista is quite a good OS, contrary to popular beleif.

so 1GB is not like enough these days...

but bill himself said 640 KB ought to be enough for anyone...
