FUALL's Sigs - Do you like it when people drop soap too?

Well, so far during this war, I have kept of the forums due to the usual amount of trash talk that comes out of peoples mouth. I am enjoing my war and in main, I am having a great time.

Unfortunately, I decided to have a quick look on the forums to see an extortinate amount of "Signatures" developed by members of FUALL, commenting mainly on the fact that Janus resembles a word which one may use within the bowel removal world

I just want to say, that it's a pretty cheap shot, when I figure how much time has actually been spent on that, I giggle to myself, mainly because I can imagine 6 year olds writing notes with immature words and laughing at them...it's pretty dumb really  if amusing for 10 seconds...I don't think it warrants the hours put into each one of those sigs!

Also, I am curious to know who created this one:

"Making people drop the soap every day"

:? Is this really something to be proud of? Now your offical line will be, it's just soap...but really? You like that type of thing?!

Just one last piece of advice, you cannot win a war by creating signatures, yes many people believe the way to win is through the forums, but unfortunately it's not, try logging onto the game every once and a while, your starting to stagnate

Anyway, I'm done...keep up the good work - making everyone drop the soap and all that

Haven't got anything better to do with your time eh matt?

Sigs have always been back and forth on this forum and you damn well know it mate, why bring this up now?

For years people have used sigs as a way to say something rude or mean about another, not that big of a deal really and when it gets out of hands the sigs are usually removed.

To be honest, there used to be a rule which forbade using another player/alliance name, or parodying it, in a sig - back in the days when the forum was a better place.

Funnily enough, that rule was brought in around about the time a few people were making sigs mocking the GA, and a lot of GA members complained about it; yet now we have FUALL members doing exactly the same thing or worse. Ironic really.

Personally I think it's childish and does nothing but administer bad feeling and hostility within the forum, as well as lower the standards, but under the current rule set it is allowed.

Agreed 100%.

Conjuring up the idea or image of Anal Rape based off some childish notion of war banter is not something that should be so readily condoned within the community. Yet even such basic levels of respect people find difficult to muster and instead defend their right to be disgustedly and unashamedly abusive towards their fellow users and uncaring about the lasting damage and rifts it causes.

Yet people wonder why the forums have degraded so far and why there exists such animosity and bad blood when even basic levels of respect are cast aside so easily without a second glance, all for a moment in the mob of self gratification and empowerment through exploiting any opportunity to try pull someone else down.

It does nothing but further breed ill feelings and lowers the standards of the community as a whole when it becomes not only acceptable but actually encouraged and fervently defended by the administration and user base alike.

There are more honest and less malicious ways to conduct a war and far better ways to share banter than the rubbish we are currently being subjected to.

This issue is nothing more than a continuation of the massively selective nobility that permeates throughout the GA/COP/FUALL institute. That is making use of something while it is convenient and denouncing it when it is no longer. Likewise crying out against something when it is a convenient political opportunity to tarnish someone and then making full use of it at a later date.

However, while we endure the current administration, the official line is “grin and bear it” and that this is the direction that certain mods are trying to take even further. Let the failing standards of forums be a legacy they endure and remember a long time I say.

If you poor people get offended by the sigs then what you do is right click the sig, then select "block images from...", then the problem is solved. At least that's what you do in FF, i'm sure IE has a similar option.

It's the little thing called personal choice, try using it some time.

I don't actually see many people crying - simply a number of people making their thoughts known about some of the drivel that is allowed to be produced in this forum - which they are perfectly entitled to do.

And, frankly, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
