Summer so far...

ok..one thing I did in New Zealand recently was watch ALOT of the summer filsm being released...so....here goes..

Indiana Jones.... thought it had the spirit of the originals, and Harrison ford did an excellent job and it was well directed, the main problem was, Shia Labeouf, who I despise, dont see him as that good of an actor, he generally plays the same character in different films. FInal problem was the alien arc....like WTH....too inorganic for indy, way to inorganic. He's all about the ancient supernatural deity ruled world..none of this ET nonsense....so was hit badly there because I do love my Indy...none the less..an entertaining film.

The Incredible Hulk....well has its ups and downs, but with the change of blonsky, and then the abomination and then once again the hulks origin, I think they strayed too far from the comic, none the less, was a cool film, but the final fight could have been 100% better, they had the pieces, just put the puzzle together wrong, meaning it fizzled out very quickly as far as im concerned. and oooooo...[sarcasm] never saw the avengers thing coming...[/sarcasm]

Kung Fu Panda..loved it! hahahaha...wasted a few a-list stars by not giving them more...but I actually thought it was probably the best film I have seen so far! Hoffman does great as shifu and black was awesome! Id say anyone with a good sense of humour and taste in film should go watch it!

Prince Caspian....monumental faliure comes to mind...no real villain...poorly acted by all the children, and well..it wasnt really darker at all. The battle was not terrific and well I just hope it flops, because thats all it deserves. It was entertaining at best, but didnt really seem worth the $12NZ I paid to go and watch it!

The Happening...well...if you like gore...yeah why not. otherwise pretty empty. Not clever, not scary, not exciting. Probably one to show a easily scared girl friend to get close for that hug or potentially more.

Hancock...I liked it, the twist was a good twist, but I really think they did what they did for jumper and squashed too many different story lines in one film, when each could be moved into a film of its own. Amusing, and very entertaining, was worth the money, but as far as will smith films go this year I wouldnt say it was a stretch better then I am Legend, but overall a good film that keeps you watching and entertained, despite its rather cheesy ending.

You dont Mess with the Zohan. Adam sandles is back..and with a vengeance. one again, anyone with a good sense of humour, go, you will love it! I liked it, thought it was pretty dam good, cant really say much more. Probably a step up from Caspian and the happening.

Ive still got to see Wanted and Wall.E but im looking forward to them both, because they look pretty sh_it hot. (Mamma Mia and sex and the city can get bent tbh...lol)

Im super excited about the Dark Knight though....looks sexy and will be going to see that next week... :-D

Well, I'm pretty sure the main reason Shia Lebeouf was in Indiana Jones was so he could continue the franchise. That's really all I'll say to that :?

As for the others, all I've seen is Hancock, which I really liked. Will Smith is just awesome. :P

Yeah at the end of Indiana Jones I was looking to see if Mulder or Scully would so up. Or atleast they would play the X-Files theme music. Maybe if they make another movie Harrisonford can go looking for the lost city of Atlantis or The Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle.

Seen Kung fu Panda - pretty funny film....worth the money to watch it

Just seen Hancock - I really liked it - only see the spoilers if you don't mind the plot being a bit ruined :P
Saw the whole relationship thing a mile off - two cinema tickets and the way she was when she first saw him....quite liked the plot....and it was short enough that it didn't drag. Not your typical hero/villian superhero film, but definitely worth watching. Was a bit annoyed that they didn't go for a gutsier ending.....was expecting her to kill herself so he could regain his powers and become the "insurance of the gods" or whatever she called him.....and if they're always drawn to each other like a lodestone surely they'll end up together again....but it was decent enough. And I was happy that none of the trailers that I saw ruined the second half of the film's plot.
