I don't know how, but I've been hacked. Gametime about 02:50.
I never have given out my password.

I do have some data.
It said in my email that I "requested a change in my password." And an email was sent to beautluvangel23@hotmail.com
Broker was used. Username: marshall

However I think marshall was also hacked. As he broker me 89 million UU, twice. Then it was rejected. Since his army size is about 31 million and the amount of naq that he has is close to mine, I say the hacker ascended both our accounts.

Even more strange is that fact that the person didn't really do anything much to my account. Didn't broker out my naq, uu, abandon planet, or even attack me. Just ascended me. Then after changing the email, the person changed it back.

Hmm it does look as though the marshall account has been ascended as it has 260b naq out which i think is the amount you get after ascension.

I dont know if this could be the same guy, but a Highwayman was hacked about 5 days ago, though the person sold off his resources. Maybe the same person?

does anyone no how people hack into others accounts??? if you do obviously don't post it on the forums but what is the best ways to protect against it???

No one got "hacked", they either had their password guessed, had shared it with someone else who decided to abuse that trust (hence the rule "no sharing of account details", it's there for a reason, a: it's cheating, b: it's risking your account being stolen), used their SGW log in details on a fake site designed to aquire p/w's or on a 3rd party forum that the admin of such a site decided to abuse, or maybe they got hit with a p/w stealer from a website or sent via e-mail/MSN etc.

Basically NEVER give out your password to ANYONE, do not use your Game password/details on ANY 3rd party web sites, even alliance websites, keep your PC up to date with anti-virus and anti-spyware software and do not accept files sent via e-mail or messengers even if you trust the person sending them, unless you have the Anti-virus and anti-spyware mentioned above and even then it's best not to as a general principle.
