Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to put this so any mod feel free to move it (im sure u would move it without my permission if its in the wrong place anyway, but... well u know)
anyway i was wondering how the adverts were generated, i have been recieving one about enroling for the New Zealand parlimentary elections, which while not being announced must by law be by mid-ish november (cant remember the exact date)
as a parlimentary candidate for these elections myself i think its a great idea for an enrolment push, but my real question is does everyone get these particular ad's or just us kiwi's

I turn them off myself, in the Command Section.
I have no interest in voting in the new Zealand parliamentary elections.
Though, if you are a candidate....Please try to spell parliamentary correctly, so that you have an actual shot at being elected.......

the advertisements are normally generated based on your geographical location (via your IP address)
i dunno bout ads scanning your computer for cookies (sorry, don't think so there bud) unless you have a cookie from the ad company.
overall alot of it is generated by IP address and therefore region targetted but mostly just random. so in canada u won't receive ads to vote in the NZ elections

i would have thought...
and this is just a thought..(could u imagine what I could do with these things I have!!!?)
That the advertisments will probably come from their respective companies, then sent to sorta agents for advertisements (I know..but hear me out) in large groups, these companies, these agents that have more than one advertisement, obviously look for ways to get them shown and all that in their respective areas, so in this case, we have the local ones for New Zealand used, I presume that the agent company thingy will give jason some sort of code input for the relevant, that allows access for the relevant region...so as for getting Jason to display for you, or remove certain banners, I doubt he could personally do it, but if it was that big a thing he might be able to put you in contact with the relevant agency or contact them himself to sort it out? But I doubt your that important to Jason...
I knwo for instance if you access msn from NZ, you get the NZ news on the MSn today, if I do it from the UK like wise.
Someone must control these things....some little gremlin...
anyway, I dont know computer coding, so could be miles off, but there ya go thats my mere though for you.

Its based on where your service provider is based. That is how you seem to get local ads. Like those ad's for "Meet Hot Single Women in {City}"
