I tend to agree with him, if you have no race changes and are, or become a Daimon then you are effectively locked down and can never change paths. I do agree that you knew what you were doing when you did it, but I'm not sure everyone is aware of this danger. Plus a long time at one play style may give way to a new one, and the urge to ascend may arise later down the road.
Just a thought.
