it takes 2 weeks in order to ascend again right? so if you get enough points in one week can you just go on vacation mode for the next week until the two weeks is up and ascend?

You need 1001 GR points to ascend. Once you have them you can ascend at any time you want to, if you meet all the requirements (minimum UP, UU, naq etc...).

There needs to be at least 20 days (I think?) between ascensions, so if you get the new 1001 GR in the first few days after one ascension, you will have to wait a few days to ascend again.

Ascension itself doesn't really take time: once you meet the reqs and have the GR its just clicks of buttons.

ok 2 weeks gotcha, but say if you get to 1001 gnr points in 5 days. can you just go into vacation mode for the other 9 days, then come off vacation to ascend again?

Well, you have to wait 48 hours from your PPT and not have attacked anyone before you can go on vacation mode. So it won't be 9 days.

The vacation mode warns that "time stops" for you. Try it and let us know if it works for you. But I'm not going to be the guinea pig.

Technically, yes you could. I wouldnt suggest it tho as you would lose those 9days of resources...
