vul·ture

1.) any of a number of large birds of prey with a naked, usually brightly colored head and dark plumage, including the Old World vultures (family Accipitridae) and the New World vultures (family Cathartidae); esp., the New World turkey vulture: they feed chiefly or entirely on carrion and are found in tropical and temperate regions

2.) any greedy and ruthless person who preys on others

so by definition teh server is full of vultures. This is for all those at war who cry about others hitting them because they dont have a defense high enough to protect their naq and UU. Those who cry "vulture" usually resort to threating and extorting.

Anyway, feel free to add a your own statements.

I disagree with the whole vulture concept, but I always thought it was, stealing naq of someone who is in war who you would not normally be able to do it to from, so taking advantage of their lower defense.

If somebody farms me more then 3 times with a strike that could normally not beat my defense and is not in the war when I usually have 200B+ defense out of war, that is what I call a vulture.

But vulture is such a crude term. I prefer 'ignorant people'.

if you can't defend your naq even when you're at war, then you deserve to get hit for it. calling people vultures is BS.

That might be so, but still lots of ppl have their account massed to dust due to them being added to a 'vulture' list.

Tell me. How are you supposed to defend your naq in a war when the object is to zero their defense and farm them as much as possible? :?

My income is 15B/turn when off Nox/Crit and most people would hit that over a 200B defense + MS. So what are you telling me is that I should build a defense to defend my naq in a war with people who can mass my defense while losing absolutely no men at all..

Also, it all depends on the 'vulture' term by the person you hit. If you hit somebody once with a policy of one hit and vulture, then good luck to your account.

 there comes a point in building up an account where you're gonna earn a lot more naq than you can defend. for example, big accounts will not farm for less than 10 to 15bil while small accounts will farm for 3 to 4bil upwards. the point is, it's practically impossible to defend your account because you have to go to sleep or do some rl stuff. so, if someone doesn't hit you for however much naq you have out, then someone else will. this will happen to you whether you are in a war or not. what's the use of calling people vulture? hell if you wanna revenge getting hit then just mass them. no need for name calling or labeling.

I don't mind losing my naq to anyone as long as they are not allies but if you take my money during the time of war and I am online.. that is just unacceptable and I will mass over that.

That is not completely true either about the getting hit or not. Before the TJP war broke out, I went to bed with Nox/Crit off and woke up with full nights income on a 200B defense. People don't ALWAYS hit you.

It is better to label, and give a reason. Then just mass somebody and not give real meaning behind it. So people will learn from their mistakes rather then make the same mistake twice. Most people have [War] somewhere in their planets/names. That is when I don't farm people.

Also, your comment about he bigger people hitting for that much..that is wrong. I've seen people hit for 8B with a 400B strike.

lol - nice! :-D

Always hated the term 'vulture' - especially since it usually comes from big guys in war getting hit by smaller guys who had been 'preyed' on by the big guys previously, but previously were unable to hit back!

there is no such thing in a war game.

by definition, yes, but when did this place ever really run by definition, that is generally just the last refuge of the real intellectuals that hide in these places.

I consider massing anyone who hits me, war / no war, 7 tril def / 0 def.
Its just when im at war im more willing to do it as im in a massing mood =) And probably bored with my enemies which is my current predicament with the Extortion Alliance Forgotten Serenity.

I have to disagree with you there Semper. I do believe "vultures" are real and do exist, just as "snipers" do. I just class them differently then the common definition used here.

A true "vulture" willfully and intentionally goes to know warring alliances for easy pickings. That means when they see a thread, they go to BOTH sides of the conflict and take all they can get, all the while never building or maintaining anything that can be hurt or destroyed. These player generally work solely on untouchable stats such as tech's, UP, covert levels and MS slots.

To me its not weather they could hit me with or without a defense, its how they play itself that defines them as a vulture.

Vultures do exist but the term is used too loosely, players who diliberatly hang out in war threads then go hit anyone who gets into a war as they will have 0 def , easy farming targets are vultures, much like the real things who cricle the dying in the desert waiting to eat their corpse. Very fitting name.

It shouldnt be used for someone who say for example doesnt like you and will hit you whether your in a war or not, or a hardcore farmer who ignores all wars and just hits people defence/nodefence for their naq.
