whats the point of untrained mercs?

i bought some and i cant seem to find anywere on the game they are used for.. cant train them can you?? do they ever get used for anything?
just curious... i know im a noob "you can say it"

when you don't have bank space left, untrained mercs make good investments. you buy for 1,500 and sell for 900 which is better than buying weapons where you you only get to sell at less than 50% value.

Also, when ascending they used to provide a good amount of APP vs what you would get for the naq you spend on them. Not sure if people still do that or if it still works that way.

That's a negative, you get more APP for the raw naq being burned up then you get for the UTM.
UTM are useless as far as ascentions go.

lol im almost positve you can fine other threds on this i have mentiond amny times and a few thigns for them
trading to an officers if co dont have SS kinda thing (to give naq)
