they just are
weapons have a human form as well as there weapon form, they also have different forms when soul resonance is used
and in tsubaki's case, she has multiple forms lol
i'm up to date atm (ep 31)

a death sythe is a weapon, which has consumed 99 kishin-egg souls (the evil red ones) and then a witches soul
doing this, provides them with a huge power increase and qualifies them as "Death Sythes", weapons which are of a level high enough to be used by Shinigami-sama (Eidoi? (sp?))
the only literal "death sythe" is maka's dad, who is a sythe weapon

"weapons", are humans with a weapon form, "meisters" are humans who are capable of resonating with weapons
as they are both in effect humans you know the biology
