I have come up with this suggestion in light of recent events.

In instances where someone obtains unauthorised access to someone else's account and transfers resources directly to another account(s) there is no record ingame of those transfers.

Transferring ATs direct: Sender receives no message - Receiver receives message confirming No. of ATs received and from which account.
Transferring Naq direct: Same as above.
Transferring UU direct: Sender receives message confirming No. of UU sent and to which account - Receiver receives message confirming No. of UU received and from which account.

The issue there is that the person that obtains unauthorised access can easily delete the message in the senders inbox after transferring UU directly to another account(s).

My suggested resolution to this is:

For all direct transfers to be recorded on screen for between 2 - 4 weeks. This would be something very similar to the broker screen where you can see what transfers have been made. So it would be recorded on both the senders and receivers accounts.

This way the real owner of the account would be able to identify straight away where the resources were sent to and not have to wait for Admin to look in to the logs.

This however would not solve the issue of resources being sent to an inactive account and then being farmed/raided, however it would give you the id of said account to add to your report for admins to look in to.

I suggested that the records only be kept for between 2 - 4 weeks due to the size that some records would become and we don't want anymore strain on the servers atm.

Although not very common, this could possibly reduce the amount of incidents like this because they wouldn't just be able to delete the message in the inbox and get away with the uu.

Thoughts are welcome.

I think having this sort of outbound, undeleteable record would be good, would even go a good distance in preventing some of these hacks if people know it can be traced so easily.

I'd go one step further and instead of having the messages show up in the PM box, there should be a separate trading message box whereby notifications as well as all other ingame business transaction notifications are posted and held for 2-4 weeks.

I'd say just add normal resource transfers to the private trade broker screen, no need for a new place to look is there?

As stated, this won't solve the real problem, but may very well be worth the trouble of coding it.

You might have some kind of grievance against clarkey (justified or not) - but please refrain from posting petty comments that add nothing to the discussion at hand, except to seemingly simply disagree with clarkey because you feel he has wronged you.

Had you made any attempt to state why the idea was 'stupid' or 'sucked', then fine - but as it is I must ask you to stop posting pointless, irrelevant posts, whose only purpose would seem to be to try and provoke.

AS to the topic at hand - good idea - but I would hate to see Jason spend time on something that he shouldn't have to do, except for the pathetic behaviour of the odd moron. Therefore, might be easier to do as Lore suggests, and record them on the broker page instead.

Nah he doesnt have to code that much, a simplier fix to this would be, make it that outbound messages ( such as direct transfer trades ) cannot be deleted at all, and will self delete after 5-10 days,

That way if someone gets into your account sends direct they cannot hide there tracks, ( well not for 5-10 days anyway )

I still think the game should tell you when you last logged in, when you login, say you login every morning ( im sure most do ) but hold on the game says you where last logged in 3 hours before, thats not right....At least then Admin would know a time in the logs to go looking for, cutting down his search time, i also think it should post the IP you last logged in from aswell, again cutting down his search time.

The biggest problem this game has is the passwords are NOT ENCRYPTED and this has been mentioned time and time and time again, but always goes unheard, sooner or later this major flaw in security will cost admin and the game big time......because sadly there will always be someone out there who will exploit this.

Instead of doing updates such as, MS, war battles, techs, ascended updates, do a major overhaul of the security of the site first, else the rest is just pointless.

I like the idea its a good one that will prevent more trouble than we can even begin to describe. i vote yes! lol

The thing is though with teh messages for the ats and naq there is no outbound message, it's from the reciever to the reciever.

I do like the idea of adding this bit to the broker screen, especially as brokers do not disappear after ascending.

I know it's only a few accounts that get hacked but for the people who suffer it isn't nice.

Just include direct sends on the broker.

Would be very helpful, I doubt coding would be hard at all.

Bump - deserves to be bumped as it's a good idea

This idea seems like a great one. I have had a couple of friends accounts hacked, and hope that there is a way of preventing it from happening again.
