What are all the ramifications, good and bad, of declaring war?

well the good things about declaring war is if your raiding you get more UU or if your attacking for naq your more likely to take all there naq instead of a % of it. Other use war to make a farm list. Which when you hit attack you will see a button with relations and you can see all you set war with and same with any other relation.

Okay, that's helpful. I have used "war" as a way to keep track of farms, etc. I had heard that it helps with raiding stats, but wasn't certain, and with the new % update for naq hits, "war" is a helpful in insuring that I rake it in.
What are the negatives (beside the other person knows that you are out there)?

If you have nox on, the people you have declared war with can attack through it, so they won't experience the delay on attacks like everyone else. Always best to declare neutral with proper enemies you plan on massing.....

Thanks Magni. I thought I had heard that somewhere. That's good to know. Is that only one way? For example, if I declared war on John Doe, and he didn't declare war on me, would he get the benefit of Nox, even though I wouldn't?

NOX
The Nox insurance had a couple minor bugs which are fixed.
1) You cannot change your realm alert/defCon level while on Nox. This changeed the 'limit' on your attacks against, allowing you to go above/under the limit at will. The NOX got upset at the abuse, and insisted no change to realm alert during a single policy.
2) Nox was never meant to protect you during war. If you are at war with someone, or your alliance is in total war, the NOX will not protect you.
John Doe gets the benefits, you don't.

Thanks for the confirmation Tekki.
