somehow i have around 270k mercs... although i never brought them nor remeber trainning them they appearing in the last five mins on my stats!

just thought i'd say!

commanders can pass mercs to officers, maybe that's what happened?

if u have a commander the most likely thing that happened was that he sent them to u as said already
