Nicely said, but you've missed the whole point of the previous discussions.

Forum's privately owned, Forum decides. He says "We go this way" we go this way. Simple as that.

As for the idea itself..

Tetris, buddy, stop beating a dead horse!

If there were major claims of bias and other stuff coming from the community about the forum leadership, then sure change would be welcomed. We recently went from a single person making the decisions to a council of three admins who have been in the community for a long period of time and know what to do. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

What would you all think about the community playing a role in choosing mods, removing mods, and/or promoting mods?
They Do now.

This is for discusion, not for hating on a mod.
TY for making that clear. 8)

Personaly, I think it would be nice to have some measure of control on the forums if just being a normal user. Say a mod is being bias, and you have "solid" proof, and/or evidence, and want that person removed.
There is a procedure in place already, but lets look at the rest of your points as well.

Before you jump the gun and say thats what the Obasman or w.e is for, well yea its true. BUT, that person has no measure of control to the outcome of anything, and sadly to say, the Obamsman cant do anything but ASK for that mod to be removed.
The position of the OMGWTHMAN carries more weight then you seem to realize, not to mention that if you have "Solid" proof, its likely you don't even need him.

I think that either the obamsman should be redone to better suit the needs of the community. If he speaks for the community, then with it he should beabkle to carry the power to have a mod removed.
As stated above, you don't seem to understand the power he has already, but if you feel the job, which is born from the users, is not what you need then by all means lobby for change. All I ask is to actually understand the job as it is now before you attempt to change it.

One last thing, when mods need to be chosen, or anything like that, I believe that the commuity should nominate ceartain individuals they would like to have the chance as being a mod,
Sorry but I totally disagree mate. If a person doesn't have the will to apply themselves, then they obviously don't really want the job. Also it has been proven time and time again that having a popularity contest doesnt really yeild good mods.

but the ultimate descision is the mod team and Admins. A mod shouldnt have to be chosen as they are now, apply for the spot, but nominated by there peers, the ones that know them best!
Again, I have to disagree. As you state even here tho, its the staff that gets final say, so I see no sense in trying to "force" someone into a position

Hope to get a good discusion out of this, its just some ideas to throw around in creating a better community!
By all means, discuss away. TY for letting me put my opinion in. 8)
Thanks!

Tetrismonkey wrote:Thanks Lore for your input. The OMGWTHMAN actually hasnt donemuch of a good job. Yes the job holds alot of weight and such, but it seems to me that even if he does his job right, that doesnt mean the Admins or Mods have to hear him out.

I have had solid proof many times over on a few mods and situations, and the OMGWTHMAN actually told me that it didnt matter. Solid proof Lore. Even if you have it, it doesnt mean you can get what you want.

There must be some kind of way to where the OMGWTHMAN holds more power for descisions on mods abuse onto the users.
