Ishmayeck vs. Amec: Stage II: Theme Wars

Amec and I have now both begun work on themes for our systems, to customize them further.

If you haven't already done so, take a look at this thread to understand what started all of this madness.

Amec says his theme is something involving Code Geass.
My theme will be dedicated to the holy deity that both Amec and I worship, Shirayuki-sama. (Coincidentally, VOID/SOULLESS/WraithX has decided to join my Holy Sacred Church of the All-Encompassing Beer as a High Priest of teh Shirayuki-sama, and dedicate himself to Her worship.)

So far I'm still working on the images and general visual conceptual thingiecraps, and Amec has gotten as far as saying he's writing a theme.

Note that the theme I'm working on right now will not be the final customization to my system. It's just a Fluxbox theme, to get the visual stuff right while I code an Awesome3 config. When the time comes to switch from Fluxbox to Awesome3, surely nothing shall surpass my system in sheer raw power and how it is made accessible to the user, that is me, in a manner perfectly coherent with what the mind of the user expects how it to be like this presented.

Amec, you may care to post a retaliation here >_> I'll PM you the link to this here thread when you wake up.

Progress on both themes will be recorded here in the form of edits of this post editings being edited. With editing.

I use either a menu key which brings up a menu with all the apps I use most often, allowing me to launch either of them with a single keypress, or I type the command into the terminal or launcher :P

I find it a hell of a lot easier to work with than a start menu that forces you to work the way it's designed, instead of the other way around <_<

Maybe I'll make a video of me doing stuff on my system... to give a better idea of how it's set up

Ahh, but when my theme and customizations are deployed completely, there'll be no need for a start button to do such a mundane thing... there will be plenty of other objects.

Plus, I like a spartan desktop when nothing's running. It will still look great >_>

j00 phlail.

the start button is unnecessary especially if it clutters things. the only reason i still have mine on is that i cant turn it off. BUT i manipulated its location and the existance of the taskbar to fulfill my needs.

Yay it's a Nathan!

Unfortunately for the moment I haven't had time to do anything, including work on my theme -_- Amec is likely ahead of me on his progress already.

I will catch up eventually though ye hear! :P
