Since Origins is still in development, now would be a good time to figure out what you all like or dislike.
Origins is based around the StargateWars universe, except we are rolling the clock back about 3 or 4 years. That being said, we are curious if you have any suggestions for the development team. There are a lot of ideas up in the air right now, which makes now the perfect time to tell me anything that could make a good addition to the game (or a reduction).
Now, to get things rolling...
To keep things simple, she is thinking about removing the era features. Which means, in the long, short and everything in between run, no more server resets.
I look forward to your thoughts.

Well an idea of where you are starting would be good
is it pre Anti? post anti?
I mean there is so much.
I vote no planets or rework them to something destroyable and not takable with a running cost
mercs with mantinace cost
pre or post MS?
make covert and anti what they should be, directly corrolated. Not like it is now, totally useless.
Force more the actual building of accounts
Make war mean something
STOP the protecting of accounts, leave it like it should be. Everything attackable. Give small safe zones, and high losses to the attacker when trying to completely destroy someone (pesky suicide bombers).

- Don't make accounts completely destroyable - but equally don't have it like now where nothing can be destroyed:
EG: - A new attack to kill miners/attack units/AC units - destroys a certain percentage of someone's total miners per day - enough to make it worth doing but not enough to cripple them so they can't play - maybe percentage increases when you declare war - makes people need to build defs during wars. Also, if someone is defenceless, then their attack units should fight at a reduced efficiency - again to make sure people have defs....
- No unlimited ATs
- Yes to AC, so long as Lore says, its more balanced.
We need the game to be more "winnable" than main, but not to the stage where the other person can't even fight back.....

Thats what I was getting at. Have a safe zone of untouchable UU such as lifers, or tie it to your UP as that forces you to build it. Then make all units killable, but make it so once your close to 0 military units that the general population reacts violently and begins to suicide bomb. This mean an attacker can continue to hammer an account to dust, if he is willing to accept higher losses, such as 10 to 1 losses.

uu un-attack-able unless you add the raiding aspect, then its lifer/miner
covert keep it so that every level you get that "double" no "cap" so that when you actually hit over 16 or w/e it wasnt x.5 bonus for every level (aka every second level you were able to get x2)
if you make everything killable... 1 your not going back to the "origins of the game... your just making a warmonger "remake" of what you think should have been updated... i think its plain stupid that you can destroy the target player 99.99% of everything they have... once that happens that player wont want to play anymore, and not its not cuz they dont have skills... but its cuz they wont want to have to basicly start from absolute nothing after having spent life blood sweat and tears trying to build some kind of account... though being able to destroy everything, there must be limits smaller the phase out limit.. our a one way phase out or something...
destruction absolute will absolutely kill the game before it has a chance to launch...
o and deffinitely no $$$ thats lame.. kinda unfair to think that people who have billions to spend and others who dont should get a bonus if its support you want then get it but i mean dont make it so they get an advantage that others who cant spend money or arent able to but want to over others.

No Nox-Worst update ever in sgw
no MS-Honestly i like MS's, but they are not needed in a game based on "old school" sgw.
no planets-2nd worst update ever after Nox
no miners-can't be killed, allow players to make too much naq. I would consider them as acceptable if you had to have a super soldier per miner, so that people can't just enjoy the big income without risking any units.
no donations at ALL for in game benefits-people will just trade out from sgw to origins to get an advantage, 6 months into the game it'll just be those players left, no one else will be able to compete, especially with more destroyable units on accounts. Donate for PPT i have no problem with, just not getting masses of resources via SS/USS or the cash market.
Spy/AC needs to be reworked, originally there was no AC, but that just encourages people to have masses of spies knowing they cannot be killed. Perhaps just have a 2nd form of attack a bit like ascention has where you can send your attack supers to target any enemy unit at all, even UU's. Restriction would be you need to have something like 2x the strike as the enemy has in defense before you can "overwhelm" them enough to fight through to the "civilian" population and target them, with losses being not too heavy for the defender. Kinda like your civvies see the enemy coming, but they can't all reach a safe haven in time so some get killed. And i would include in this the ability to attack enemy attack troops too, they would count as defense troops for the attack on them, so be a hard fight, but would remove the ability to just leave attack supers hanging around for sniping on people at a later date, especially if unarmed.

Ability to buy 2x 48 hr PPT per week yes, people need to have a life, but it should be EXPENSIVE to buy, so much so that it will NEVER be profitable to take a PPT for the income, it would only be to keep your account safe. maybe rather than have a cost to buy it, just have the PPT set the accounts income to zero for the duration. You still make UU's, just all your earned naq goes to paying the galactic council to protect you for the 2 days.

they have to have some sort of SS or else the game wont have money to keep going, and the only way people will buy it is if they get ingame resources. but as david said i just want no nox/planets.

Well you contridict yourself.
The original SGW had Every unit killable. UU died on every hit and there were no miners.
I'd like to see no P2P transfers as well.
As For Donations,,, I'm torn. I do know $$ is needed to sustain games. While I hope no $$ market exists, I am willing to allow Donations.
Without $$ the game dies.

i contradict myself because i started playing when uu didnt die on every hit. aka uu were "safe", like, attack units, and covert units as well.
then they added raiding and ac. perhaps we should aim for having raiding and ac off the bat? and i know many ppl dont want ms, but why not?
you know what this is guys right?
this is us wanting to make Main 2, and pick off the bad updates and keep the bad... honestly i dont see this flying off to being available anytime soon mainly because of the picking and choosing of certain updates...

Origins... then no ascentions. Release g&r after 3 months. Use g&r for techs and upgrades. Each 1000 g&r for one new tech. No planets. Add MSs, or the tech to build a MS after you get enough glory and reputation... ie 3 months.

It can launch almost immediately. Everything is there already mate.

I disagree. Using G&R for tech upgrades and MS is a bad idea as it can only be held by a few, and its to abusable. On small scale release there may only be 10 or 25 G&R ranks, what if there is 30 members of the top alliance?
Will allow the strong to get strong quicker and weak to struggle more.

Attack, Defence, Covert, Anti Covert, Raiding, and of course, a Bank, Based on UU you have out in the open.
Thats all there should be.
NO miners NO lifers, No motherships, No Planets. PPT, But only ONCE a week. (So you can sell SS and so that you make money, Obviously this IS a buisiness). Just normal SS, No UBER ss, And no buying extra PPTs. No Market.
I believe that covers all bases, And makes everything nice and destroyable

OK explain how UU works? they go out with attackers? or only die on defended attacks?
You will see some LOW tech levels thats for sure.
I also think there should be a market, just no AT on it. But I'd try it either way

What do you mean how does UU work?
its just untrained peons, They contibute to your income. the fact they can be raided from you means there will be alot of very low incomes...
They dont go on missions, they are simply UU. If they are not uu they are spies, Attackers or Defenders.
Obviously have all the original race weapons, And keep supersoliders.
And maybe replace replicators with tok'ra?
