everybody like gouald becoz they like balanced stats with high income and tauri because they can farm the high pages

its simple. all the good players go goauld, unless they want to be a pain in the arse, then they go tauri.
Everyone else is just silly.
EDIT - this applies unless you are ETL...then you just dominate with any race.
