Filter out spam temple?

I have nothing against it, or the people that spend hours posting ":shock:" in it. But when looking through the new posts I do get annoyed of seeing 4 pages of threads of which the majority are from the spam temple.

So bascially, is there any setting i can use to not see any spam topics?

->User Control Panel (ucp.php)
->Usergroups (ucp.php?i=167)
->Under "Non-Memberships" tick "No Spam Temple", then scroll down and click "Submit".

That'll do the trick, old friend. ;)

So far, it is limited to the Spam Temple, Chaos and Quantum, Lore.

The usergroups of choice:
- No Chaos
- No Quantum
- No Spam Temple

It might be an idea to create a few other groups with a similar function in regards to other forums/sections? Though practical for users, it might be some hassle for the administration to manage more groups like the three mentioned. :)

well Origins should be placed on the list, and I have another I would like to see added as well. I think I'll go work on that.

Good points. Practical thinking there.

I don't see why not, If they really want it removed I can check into it.

*Edit*

That would be a No as long as announcements are in general. It needs to be visible so no one can say they didnt see any coming announcements

Announcements should all go in the announcements section anyway. Though I understand the unwillingness to make a "No general" group.

*grins*
I only read the Announcements section.
Could we have a usergroup which only leaves Announcements visible and doesn't show the rest of the forums? :P

Just kidding. Would be clearer though, if annoucements all did go in 'Announcements'. That would require more strict monitoring on what is made an announcement and what is not, lest we be spammed with birthday and memorial threads and other things. :)

The announcement section generally is not a discussion section.

Due to the FAQ and the forum buggs section being in general I don't think it a good idea to make it removable.

And yes I do see where many would want to remove sections such as GC and Gen from there forum experiance.

perhaps then to not filter away general, "hai", "newbie-faq, GC, chat and Teamspeak?

that way, announcements would be visible, as would forum thingies, but remove those some people dont read... (we ourselves wouldnt join of course... but we know a few that would...)

No General...? What's the point of coming to a STARGATE WARS forum if you cannot see STARGATE WARS GENERAL?

Along with

Newbie/ FAQ Forum
The Galactic Colosseum (I could understand that one)
Forum Specific Issues/Requests/Bugs (NOT GAME ISSUES)

It really makes the point of using this forum quite.. moot?

there's a few, mainly denizens of the temple, that cant stand the attitudes in general... (also, note that we for that idea did NOT say to include forum issues section in hiding)
