Origins!

I want everyone to take a step back for a moment and remember what we proposed and what the thought was behind making the Origins idea become a reality.

I'll post more later when I get a break from work.

I've read more stuff down in the development section and I've determined that I will not play Origins as it is not what it was supposed to be. It's nowhere close to the original idea that I put forth there I will not play. If I wanted to play something new I would have gone to Battle Corps.

Good luck everyone, enjoy your new game.

You're not alone to disagree with "experiences" being proposed for this game..I'm sure most of those won't come out. ;)

True, but everything in the game is having a "proposed" update for this, or that.

That was not the idea of Origins. It's something better left for Quantum.

The game is supposed to be what SGW Came from. Not what it could of came from if different updates were put into place.

But do you agree with future updates?
I agree with you that the game should start like it was, with some improvements, but if the game will be entirely like it was in the begining, i doubt that many will join and remain to play.

Besides, Origin could mean the returning to the basic races, without the ascended, MS, planets. Everything else is an improvement and won`t change too much. IMO

Everything currently proposed are major changes to the entire structure of the game.

Updating the game after the game starts is one thing. However starting it off as an entirely new game is well. A new game.

I'm sure that despite the current wildly raging ideas put forth by people, the official threads by adminGary suggest little to no deviation from the original plan of Origins.. :)

Sure, everyone else (most notably everyone who didn't play in the early days, and as such has no idea what you meant by "a Return to '05") comes with the most outrageous and expansive ideas for 'improvements' and 'updates'. In the end, it is up to adminGary, and I am quite sure he will stick to the plan. Just put your foot down, Su. I'm sure you (as the main activist for this game) can convince adminGary better than anyone.

The above is said as an Origins player, not as Origins Mod.

the thing is at the moment gary is just playing ideas around to see how we like them and test them out in beta. if you disagree with any update say so :) im sure gary won't want any update that will put off any player. i tihnk hes trying to work with the players to find a mix between 'origins' and an improved version ect

ahhh.. Lord Su... give it time! The universe is constantly in motion, change is inevitable.

You have got your wish, the game has begun as it started, have you signed up to Origins?

If you admit that updates and moving forward is inevitable...well...

Su, nothing put forth in development is set in stone. Everything is open for discussion, so feel free to discuss. Also keep in mind, I never played SGW back in 05. I'm willing to guess that only a handful of players currently playing SGW played in 05, I could also be wrong.

If you have a problem with the direction this game is taking then voice your opinions on how it should be.

Well AG, and no disrespect you you Su, But Su suggested "Origins" and pushed for it to happen. I'm sure he kinna has a sense of ownership?? if you know what i mean.

@Su, if you go hard core SGW 05, count me out. The game sucked, and will not survive without updates. Fix the fundamental flaws, or it will just be another SGW, with different bandaides.

Correct, but I feel that everything so far presented is so far away from how the game started, that it is not going to live up to what it was meant to be in my eyes.

I agree, things need to be fixed, hence why I said that AC needs to stay, amongst many other things. There will always be a need for order and balancing. What I'm currently not interested in seeing is new things to start the game off with that are completely away from how the game was! I want NEW things not enhanced old things.

I strongly disagree with proposed items like banking, and there was another that completely threw me over the edge.

Moving forward there will always be the need to attract and keep players.

yep, i completely agree

this bears so little resemblance to the original sgw back in 05, that it may as well be a quantum round, except it won't reset

thats a bad thing?

I mean honestly, SGW 05 sucked. period. Why not fix the fundamental flaws? I mean the german server was basicly what you want origins to be, and its nearlt dead if not dead.

Well i think its more dead because of the fact its in german. :?

Not many can understand it, a few of us can remember a few things, and even fewer still can actually speak it fluently enough to get any real enjoyment out of the game. NOT to mention that game made a few fundemental mistakes besides the language choice with an ingame translator or the option to have it in english.

1. it had massive 48 hour ppt's so some people got the massive lead, myself and tom twin were two of them when the thing first got up and running.

2. Sniper accounts were the top dogs. You could have a mound of covert, a massive strike and just farm your way to the top of the UP pile and then your sorted.

3. UU was NOT killable.
