3. It's funny to do that. People thinking you're a guy until they shockingly realise you're not. :P Makes them rethink what they talk to you about.

4. If others do it, not my problem.

I'm wondering how I could hesitate between choice 1 and 2 if I acted this way...and why would I post this (criticism) topic if I was concerned by it. Shooting self on the foot is overrated. Time to realize it.
"Those pics"...I only posted one once few years ago as far as I know.
If I made this topic, it was just to try to know if people felt same about it as me...guess...it's not the case, almost noone voted 1 & 2 yet.

I can understand why some women might pretend to be males in a male dominated game such as this. I mean you've all been in MSN convo's or IRC when the girl joins and everyone's trying to flirt/hit on her. It must be tempting to just try and avoid it altogether in this way.

You are born male/female in reality. There's no way to avoid that.
However, System Lord is not same (it's not a gender...), it depends who you would roleplay there. If I did roleplay with Bastet, or Hathor, THEN, it would be same as that issue.
Why would people roleplay as Asgards/Replis then? Then don't even have an human host/human body!
It's again another issue. But still not the same, as it's no sex creatures.
System Lords are a fictional race. Being a guy or a girl isn't fictional. You are a male/woman in real life. You aren't SL, Asgard, Replicator, Tok'ra...in real life.

Roleplaying as Apophis, Anubis, O'neill, McKay, Hammond, Ronon...when you are a man, has nothing wrong. Because you roleplay a male character. Same for women who would use Carter, Hathor, 3rd, Teyla...or even Lois Lane ( :P ). It's logical. They are women, they use women. Women characters are closer to women and same goes for male characters for males!

One problem, that Lois pointed out (I think she meant that)...you don't talk the same to guys and to girls. Yes, your point is right, but well some guys would talk less "respectively" to a guy than to a woman.
When you talk to a woman you are more careful with what you say! :P
Depends on your level of education and politeness of course...

As I said, those are FICTIONAL creatures.
Guys & girls are not fictional.
Hence, roleplaying Apophis (fictional guy) is more logical than if I roleplayed Oma Desala (fictional woman).
So my example isn't that bad! ;)

Guys are programmed to act differently to women. It's just the way it is. It's natural.

The same goes for the way you react/talk to a girl you are attracted to compared to a girl you're not attracted to.

Some females may not clarify their gender just so they don't get "special treatment" from guys.
Some guys will try to act female to get special treatment and hope to gain resources or something

Imo - I don't care if someone is male or female. The only difference is if they're a hot female
