For growth, I have seen two tactics:
1. Raid, sell the UU to buy AT, and raid.
2. Hit people for naq, but AT and UU, hit people for naq.
You might also consider finding a CO with some chops that can protect you, either directly or through his/her reputation. A good CO also gives advantages beyond protection, but advice.

ive been trying that but with the recent changes in perg my habits have to change and now that a member of the alliance alpha aprents masssing my forces its set me back...
also no one selling at for uu on the mp doesnt really help me either
ill have a look around and see if naw farming is worth it in main without the risk of being oblitterated

Perhaps diplomacy with the person attacking you will help?
With your other problem, try selling UU while you are on PPT, then purchase the AT with the naq from the sale. Keep training your UU into miners, that will increase your bank size and allow you to save up for bigger purchases.

I am confused as to why you would come from purg to main?
Seems purg is much better farming, more profitable raiding, and 0 chance of getting massed? So why come to main?

Lore has a great point.
Even with the changes in purg, there is ample opportunity to grow and get into G & R range.

also uu is much easier to keep then naq is atm my bank size is a mere 90bill so not much naq can be kep which means i have to have naq out if i want to sell (which is what i want to do) so i came out of perg so i could farm uu instead of farming naq

can't you raid in Purg? and isnt raiding better in purg?
I'm not up on purg, never even been able to look in the door, so I honestly Don't know what your problem is mate, maybe some purg guys will be on shortly and can help you out.

no recent update have made it so you cant use more then 60 turns on a person in a 24 hour period

Nov 2008 Pergatory Update
Pergatory entry requirements have been updated -ontop of all previous restrictions, one can now only enter pergatory after 24 hours of no attacking, no ppt, and no vacation.
Maximum glory gained per turn while in pergatory, regardless of rank, is limited to one.
Maximum attack turns used on one player in 24 hours is limited to 60.
These updates are intended to slow the pace of pergatory down, at least with repect to activity against any one account. Pergatory was always intended as a valid, albeit slower, gameplay style. These changes will help to bring it back closer to this original goal.

that currently makes raiding for uu imposible

Considering your army size, I would have to disagree that it makes raiding impossible, but rather a more extensive farming list is a necessity.
