Vegetarians amuse me somewhat...
for starters there are many different types... Type A
They will not eat conventional meat (beef, pork, rabbit, duck, chicken..yadda yadda..) yet they will eat fish...and they will eat free range eggs.. the idea behind these guys being that if it was not kept in captivity in cruel ways and was caught in the wild then it is acceptable (but they wont eat say a wild rabbit thats been caught, killed and eaten...

)
yet..when confronted by the facts that fish are very often these days kept in farms, eggs are baby chickens that come from chickens kept in a farm..whether that farm is the size of four football pitches and take no liberties with controlling their animals or it is the size of a house and keeps the chickens in a cage..is no different. They're not wild chickens..
on another note they will eat fish caught at sea fresh, yet still will not eat a wild rabit caught.. the argument is brain dead, made to make people feel a little less guilty. They will also drink milk, taken from cows that are in the same position as the 'free range' chickens..
Type B
Are the type that will not touch any animal meat (fish included) because it is cruel to kill animals for food no matter what conditions they are kept it.
OK...so its fine to murder plants? Plants abilities of perceptions are...more primitive...but more sensitive when compared to our own...yet they still feel the environment around them and react when damaged. Just because they do not cry and do not have a few of the more salient attributes say a chicken has is irrelevant. Its still stopping the chemical processes in a 'living thing'.
Yet these vegetarians will still drink milk...same as before. (I am pretty certain they not be eating eggs...).
Type C
Are those advancements on the previous Type B. These people are the real nut jobs who go around with the pictures in their purses, refusing to even eat plants unless they die in a humane manner. Boils down to the point...if its ok to kill anything in any manner..cant that argument be applied up the scale to the lamb you just saw in the field? Die of old age you say! Natural Causes! SAME AGAIN!
oh and of course.. there is the last type..
Type D
These are the guys that say God did not intend us to eat animals. OH REALLY! Why would an Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnibenevolent being give us the means to kill them then. Dosen't the pope eat meat? (Before you think I trailed off there, put the pop and the Omni's together, throw human perception of God and religion into the mix..and problems pop up!) I am sure there is an absolute roller coaster of arguments for this one.. I would not know where to actually begin in ernest.
I say vegetarians that follow these arguments get stuffed. Either find arguments that stand up to basic intelligence, or do what it says on the tin, kill yourselves through malnutrition and save us all the winging and annoying dinner/cooking arrangements now.
Personally I do value life.. so I would never kill animals for sport..creatures of the wild and all that are..well pretty much innocent, with no sense of arrogance and all that nonsense, they really are instinct driven for the most part, humans or not..which will explain a few things for people regarding my opinions here.
I do however accept the killing of animals for food..for nourishment as that is the natural order of things. Bigger things..generally eat smaller things to pass on energy and all that jazz...
