Awards

I have a question regarding the awards.
Do half the people even think about the people who deserve the awards rather then voting for their friends?
Honestly..I have been watching and some of these votes just astound me. Personally, I do not care if I get an award because at this point..they are more of a joke. Competing with people in a popularity contest? What are you thoughts on the awards?
Please keep on topic.
If this isn't allowed..let me know.

Noobert you have too much faith in the SGW community

They were the same last year, and indeed the year before that.
I've tried to be objective, though, and I know others have too. If you were one of the players who voted maturely, then you can at least take solace in knowing that you played fair and afforded respect where you thought respect was due. It's a bit of a cliche, but there we go. I know there are a few of us out there.
I know I won't win anything this year, but I've been touched by some of the nominations and some of the messages of support which I've recieved... and not necessarily from people who are in my alliance, or to whom I speak on a regular basis. This fact alone has made the awards worthwhile for me, and will doubtless inspire me to continue playing.

There was a column I wanted to have put up so I could nominate you, Mordack, but it wasn't put up. You have always been neutral to the SGW Community, no matter what side, and always have a smart response. You even cracked a few good jokes that me laugh.
I still vote Mordack for Most Loved Player for 2008.

I'd vote for you, too, Mordack.

No, this thread is not allowed. The awards rules state it so. You should read them.
I completely agree with you noobert, and have issued an order to Nemesis Sect not to vote for their own members and friends on mere principle...but rather only what they truly think.
I like to think we have succeeded in this so far.

D'oh. My apologies then Semper. I usually just skim the top part, so I know who to post then post. To many threads to go through.
I think if we actually had a vote where people voted for those who deserve it..well..it would be incredible to see those people who put hard work into this game to be rewarded with a title they can hold with pride. Then again, I'm just a bit of a pride, honor, and caring guy so shrug.
