You're missing something.

That 'empty docking facility' means that they have a MS nothing more. It doesn't actually say anything about if the MS is in or out.

It's always reported like that, from the time before planets when MS's were 'in' all the time and when having a MS was something that wasn't just assumed.

it lets you know that they have built an MS, but you are right, the game has moved on and it would be much more useful if it specified if the MS was sent out on a Mission, hell, why not include % of volleys, shields and fleets the MS has armed if it is around.

its been there since you lost MS's from ascending, and it still serves the same pourpose as there are accounts without a MS at all.

Intresting fact there, guess what happens if you have a massive MS and they don't even have one at all?
