Alliances

Get this part of the game rolling. would be nice to see who has the strongest alliance, n what rank they would be.

purhaps a unique system to Origins that none of the other server have atm.

Agreed, we need to get the alliance system up and running. I know we all want Origins to be different to the other one's e.g. no M/S, Planets etc... But i do feel like alliance pages are key. Can we have a time frame on any sort of ideas rolling around your head Admin...

i liked the old system i like the title idea from main

i liked the alliance system in general

but i hated the idea of the upgrade system which they were planning

but i do like the tax idea and i think it should be up to the alliance leader to do with it as he see's fit as alliance leader your typically trusted in the alliance

So how would we feel about...

  • The ability to assign alliance titles to come to origins.
  • A 2IC to be able to be assigned, can accept and boot members. {cannot boot leader}
  • An alliance tax which takes any where from... 5-20% of the members income.
  • Any one can request a withdrawal from the bank, but the 2IC or leader must confirm/accept/authorize it. For the leader to withdraw money the 2IC must confirm it, for the 2IC to withdraw money the leader must confirm it, thus making one man alliance bank's impossible.

That's all i can think of to be honest, mostly ideas from main. Any one think of anything to add in ? or anything to be removed...

change that to 1-10%
and you i think it would be better, then people arnt losing as much naq.

maybe ranks within the alliance.. eg
Treasure, can also agree when people request money,
Treasure, leader and 2ic can send money to other members if agreed with another of his colliges.

(war related rank) can change the defcon level of the alliance, so that all members recive a defense bonus in time of war. decreases income.

AG, fix it when you get time, in its own time. Work on the known bugs now first mate.


A good alliance system would be nice tho mate.

Yep, there are other priorities, but the alliance system needs work too.

For example, a way to reject people is definitely needed. Any randomner could take your tag on board, mass a few people, get your alliance in deep do do, and then drop the tag. Used to happen all the time in olden days ;)

I'm kind of against the alliance tax - hinders lone wolves, and importantly reduces your income. Its essentially an auto-banker for a certain percentage of income.....

For example, if its 10%, and it can be withdrawn as naq by the alliance leaders and given back to the people - well, it essentially autobanks 10% of that person's income. Lonewolves don't get that, hence the disadvantage.....Plus, it also introduces an element of trading resources amongst players that I thought we were trying to avoid?

hehe nothing prevent lonewolves to create their own alliance with only him in it, allowing him to "autobank" his naq.

else he's just stupid :P

OK the confusion is I was speaking of a "Tax", your speaking of an alliance "Bank"

Tax = lost income, no gain
Bank = a bank

I agree with tax if things like alliance attack logs and such are introduced, if no real benifits or protections are granted then there is no need for the tax

I oppose alliance banks all together.

I think alliances should be simple.

- 1% income tax.
- attack logs
- tag

The complicated part. They should be SG race linked. When you create an alliance, the type of alliance you create is dictated by your race.

For examples..

Type G: A Goa'uld Alliance could only contain Goa'uld and Tauri. (The Goa'uld have a TREATY with the Asgard, not an alliance. Tauri = Jaffa?)

Type A: An Asgard could contain Asgard and Tauri. (Asgard have often used the Tauri to help..)

Type R: Replicators can only be in a replicator alliance. (Replicators destroy all...and ally with none).

Type T: The Tok'ra can have Tauri and Tok'ra in theirs (The Tok'ra lead the Tauri and vice - versa, again the Asgard may be allies, but dont follow either of the others).

Type Ta: The Tauri can have Tok'ra and Tauri in theirs. (The Asgard are allies, but they rarely do anything under Tauri instruction...)

I think, if role play is to survive and a race wide spirit is kept then it needs to be like that immediate. These multi race alliances should be disallowed. Already I see Tauri, Asgard, Goa'uld and replicators sharing alliances...it is ridiculous.

i kinna hope there is NO att logs, it forces more activity ingame and informs as its obvious in att logs

i true system is needed, accepting and denieing and such, as for attack loggs, i hope not, but if so then i hope the income tax comes with it as it kills lone wolves being able to farm dead weight in alliances.


More I think about this the more I hope alliance att logs are not introduced here. I hated them when they were in main, tho i have grown use to them.

They make public farming list, and id rather everyone actually work for there income, not have 1 guy find the best targets and everyone else take them.

that basically tells us who the tokra are i dont like this system role play should be maintained with rivalry your roleplaying will introduce it to the new players carry the torch so to speak and rivalries will build if you continue this and that system will only divide alliances into empires a rep all asgard and tauri and an asgard alliance all under one empire so no sorry semp i dont agree with this one
