Embodiment of Stargatewars.

Every once in awhile, you meet someone who completely defines what you think Stargatewars players should act like, who they should be like. For everyone it is different, depending on what your play style is, for a masser it could well be the most trigger happy player you know.

For me, that player is Mordack. Incredibly bright and witty, Mordack exemplifies how I believe SGW players should act. Polite and courteous even to his enemies, as what I like to consider a good friend of his, is always a blast to chat with, good for advice in and out of game, and always capable of putting a smile on your face. Diplomatic, and a terror to try to stand toe to toe with on the battle field, Mordack is my SGW idol.

Who is yours? Give a shout out to who you think deserve to be recognized for who they are, and write a bit about them.

Tough choice.

Lore, Mordack, Clarkey are all good choices. But if I had to pick one it would be The O-Neill. He's able to balance everything to perfection. Somehow finds the time to be an incredible player and make the worlds longest posts despite never being around. Been trying to figure that one out forever and never have managed to do it myself.

I do not think there is anyone.

There is no person that I would say is stargate wars, and stargate wars is them.

Obviously, and theoretically it would be Jason...but there is no player that would fulfil this role...it really is, the old Obi Wan Kenobi saying..

"You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to, depend greatly on our own points of view.."

Ow but Master Kenobi u forget that Hellfire points out who you think represents sgw for u. So please dont state the obvious.

Personally my hero's: Lore, The O-Neill, Taxo, Manetheren, Teal'auc, Mutt
Those 6 represent a lot for me in and outside of the game. May it be about sgw, may it be about chit chat or even real life. Those few always have my trust.

Semper does not forget.
He may omit out of necessity or with an educational purpose, but forgetting anything is not his style. He is "on purpose".. always.

While we are on the subject, I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. As a consequence, I cannot mention any names without giving too little credit to others, unnamed. I will choose to not mention anyone, so as to insult every mentor I have had equally. If you feel insulted, you are on my list. If you do not feel insulted.. well.. you may be a person of good will, or not on the list. ;)

Kittie is mine, ne'er have i met a nicer guy, :)

we met during war and was an extremely good night where AK was trying to steal TDL's planets and we'd only manage 1 or 2 hits before kittie started massing fleets.

He's smart, quick witted, yet also firm when he needs to be and most importantly he plays the game for fun.

Thank you Universe, that would have been my reply also.

As for not stating the obvious FS, I would be inclined never do so, as to reduce my work load when I come to this place.. but the dam community just insist upon being the ignorant beast's of burden they always have been.

The emboidment of the evil side of SGW is Caprila...

She joins and Alliance works her way up the command structure... Breaks apart an empire by pulling the sub alliance they are part of out of the empire... shortly thereafter joins another Empire, which she climbs up to the top of the command chain... then leaves... (surrendering to the enemy) becomes a traitor again and joins with the enemy who she surrendered against...

Congratulations Caprila - enjoy your time in Mayhem...

Thank you for that, HellFire. People have been inexplicably positive about me lately, both here and IRL. It's a little disconcerting, but I'm touched nonetheless.

My SGW idol will always be Esker. A player whose reputation speaks for itself, and who never failed to do it 'his way.' I spent the first year or so of my SGW career wanting to be Esker, before realizing that the position was already fulfilled.

Sadly, you never know the full story behind it.

Just sad you figure you needed to post something about somebody you hardly know anymore due to your level of play.

hmmm my first post for a while but what the hell GUNZ, STI, Jake, Pionomutt, REK all the old guard - the "newer - so to speak" players have no clue. It's a shame we cannot turn back the clock ;-)

I have many I would call giants in this game that embody what I see as virtuous qualities. Clearly EnterTheLion, the king of OE Empire is the obvious one, and sooo many others that have left and many others that still play . This reply could take a page to list them all.

I will take this opportunity to single one out though. One that has unfairly been impugned in this very thread. A player that made a tough choice and knew she would face ridicule...yet still had the courage of her convictions to do what her sense of right and wrong told her to do .

A player that recently realized all the tripe and propaganda were untrue and looked around and made a choice...to stop ignoring the obvious, and cease any association with the source of the lies soo many buy into.

That person is Caprilla. She has a singular sense of right. Her heart told her she needed to move on from the lies and deceit ... and as such she has exposed herself to the vitriolic rantings of those that still believe the illusionary and delusional rantings with an agenda of control and usurpation.

I respect her so much , and I will support her any way I can.

We are playing a game here people. Have as much class as she has and we would all be the better for it.
