Priors what are they?

What are these priors
I have never seen this guys. And why do all races have them.

Well, as far as my understanding goes, Prior's in SG-1 are the instruments of the Ori. If the Ori directly interfered in a plane of lower existence, the Ancients would wake up from their comatose state.
As for in TGW, it is a title to indicate that you've ascended.

Do you have to keep prior as a name when you ascende or can you keep your other tittle.

its a sub-title, but u have to keep it i suppose.

Goa'uld is a better for any race name.

Prior is a sub-title as Dougy said but if you ascend again, you get a different title. So, in effect, you lose the Prior label. At any rate, you lose your current race name when you ascend in the first place.

You choose the race that you will be on the ascended server. But the race that you get on the main server when you ascend depends on what race you were before you ascended.

Prior is only the first level of ascension.
A ‘Prior’ has ascended once, a ‘Prophet’ twice, a ‘Messiah’ thrice and an ‘Incarnate’ has ascended four times. 'Living Gods' have ascended a fifth time making them a combination of all four races, bonus wise.

I once saw a Living God in the 5,000s, the mid 5000s. I was taken aback to say the least.
