I was wondering if anyone has talked to Tekki lately or has any way to contact her?
a new fire has just broken out in Victoria in a suburb called Belgrave, which is basically Melbourne now, Tekki lives incredibly close to it
i would ask for anyone else around that area as well but i don't know of anyone in SGW who plays that lives there as well but if there are others, i hope you stay safe too

I'm fine

Though thank you muchly for the concern.
From the looks of things it's a fire bug lighting them.
The Healesville fire is under control (or staying within control lines) and the CFA/DSE were really happy about their control today. Now they wait for Friday.
Bunyip is also under control.
The big concern today was Warbauton though that seemed to be okay and then of course that Belgrave/Upwey one. I'm not sure where that is burning but while it is close it's a fair distance (thankfully).
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&sour ... 15234&z=11I live on that map, somewhere. The A is the fire (or where I think it is).

With all these fire-happy people lighting up the state I cross my fingers that we'll stay safe.
What scares me is that its going to be 38 degrees on Friday....you know what that means. More fires.

indeed, things like this really remind you of how 'small' the world is,
I remember when Katrina hit, I had a few good friends in the area (from a previous game I played), Sadly we never found one of them afterwards...

..

good luck to all those affected, come back safely to mass again some other day

From what i've heard, others in SGW are all well, but no actually, very few live in the city, most live outskirts of melbourne our country as far as i know?

I'm what you would call "Coastal", sadly for me because I work in the city, but live 2 hours from it.
This is both a blessing and a major hindrance.
Having said that, we're still to this day covered with smoke.

Im suprised our area hasnt burnt. What with the amount of unattended bonfires surrounded by trees and lack of water.

I'm fine, at one stage we had a Armada of Fire trucks staging in my town and was under Extremem risk, but all is well atm, but the Local CFA is still concerned with teh dry land etc, they are doing all they can to prevent anything tho ( Hired heaps of companies to clean the undergrowth, all grass has to be under a certain length etc ). I live where ash wendnesday happened, So my parents know what to do if it comes to close and how far to close it. Here are some pics
