Thought id post up one of my musings about this game.

Ive been playing about, 2 years possibly. Only started coming on the forums recently but im looking to get more active.

My question is this. How likely is it for new 'superpowers' to rise?

Mayaswell use myself as an example even if im not talking exclusively about me. Im an LG, soon to be LG+1. A decent grasp of massing and the Do's and Donts of the game. Whats the possibility of me ever catching up with the massive accounts here? Does it happen at all?

This isnt a whining post btw i'll play aslong as i have the time as main and origins are fun. Just whats the scope for catching up with the larger accounts.

Oh And a hello to anyone i havnt met yet 8)

Intresting point you got there..
I've been playing for about 9 months and i'm way back aswell.
I guess we need to get some help from one or a few of the big dogs around here to have a chance of catching up..
Peace to you all..

yes i think that other players can catch most of them (not all) in army size but i think some of the MS's are rediculasly high and you wont catch them

no i do not think a new super alliance could form without it being mainly made by bigger/ older players
after all thats what TL was and its the only one to really succeed

Im not actually saying it can or cant be done, generally seeing what everyone else thinks.

I would of thought that with all the wars raging catching up would be easier.

Ay, i was thinking armysize is doable as they constantly fluctuate. Mothership on the otherhand does seem a little, hopeless. I thought having a ranked top 200 was an acheivement until i skirmished with some bigger players haha

How did forgotten serenity get its start on the ladder? I like the model they seem to run. Respected in war, good accounts and generally seem like good people.

As one of the near plague accounts, it's ridiculously easy to catch up in size. Though if you are near LG+1 I'd consider ascending further before you build up as believe me the costs I'm looking at are completely stupid for the gain.

But in pure size, get a UP above 140k and bingo you are already growing faster than the caps (unless they get changed back) Cap growth rate is 25million per year, so is quite small. And with only 1 or 2 noteable exceptions most feel that it's much more cost effective selling the UU rather than facing plague of about 20k per turn.

MS wise, there's a few out there that are massive but they are possible to catch if an alliance - a decent one - combines or a fair amount of $$ are spent. The cost of ingame resources for $$ is rather cheap atm and only getting cheaper.

As for warring, well what makes someone a super power? The ability to not have stats and not say surrender? Or the ability to actually fight? In which case anyone with some planets can do so forever.

I think we should have a sitcom Btw

Tek & tekki show

It just feels right

i was going to build up at LG+1 but the idea of getting a better chance of ascended blessing is tempting me to go till atleast ascension 12-15. Plus everyone and there dog are Living gods now.

catching up is just a matter of putting time in the game ( or $$ ) , if you decide to raid 4h a day every day you will be at the raid cap in no time , then you start farming 4h a day and you will be able to buy a great raw UP and grow even faster .
Shure , you will get massed but that's only a minor setback and if played correct not even a setback.

I have seen ppl do in 4 months what took most ppl over 2 years , there is more UU to raid , there is more naq to be taken then when the game started.

As for super alliances forming , only if they get started by known powerhouse players , and that's not always a big account player , its all about knowing the correct ppl and getting them on board.

note : there will always be only 2 super alliances , if a third is made 2 will gang up on the lesser one. SGW has its way of balancing itself.

Simple.

Just work hard at farming, raiding, etc.. and you will catch them in a month, two..max.

Possibly not people like Robe, [AG] Thorta, Tekki, Qacol, etc..but you can catch anyone that does not have a "super insane powered account".

Firstly while your still ascending no you wont catch up, as you will always be building to lose it again, when you decide your done with ascending providing you invest into your account correctly ( even without $$ ) it wouldnt take you long to catch up.

As it happens, Getting to between 150-200 million Army size is fairly easy. It does take a little bit of time if your on your own, but its still fairly easy. From there on in, the entire game is like takeing candy from a baby, 200 mill army will pretty much garantee you most things you want, and of course, with the resources at your disposal, and a little spare time to raid, you can make an even bigger army easy enough.

UU and Roundabouts.
