Is it possible to untrain your super attack units and super defence unit before ascending, or do you just lose all of them?

They can never be untrained, only killed.

They can never be killed completely, I think 19 is the bottom line...
The only way to get rid of supers completely are:
Ascend
Change Race
Delete your account and start a new one...

Don't ever train any kind of Units to supers if your going to ascend, because you can never un-train them.
However, if you know how many Trained Units you'll need to ascend, it's ok to train that many Units to Supers that is equal to the amount of the Trained Units Requirement since you'll need that many Trained Units anyway in order to ascend.

I do not argee with that. You could train an extra million UU into strike supers and make more Naq then you lost by the training of them.

I agree it depends on your style of play. You have to have some units trained so it doesnt hurt to have them trained as supers. You can farm much more then you can sit and make on your own, so if you have an agressive streak its ok to have some, just dont go way over your requirement with them. Remeber, mercs are paired with supers, so 1 mill SS and 1 mill mercs are as good as like 3 mill normal men or something like that, and you got to have some trained anyway to sacrifise.

As I said before,
StarGateMan wrote:However, if you know how many Trained Units you'll need to ascend, it's ok to train that many Units to Supers that is equal to the amount of the Trained Units Requirement since you'll need that many Trained Units anyway in order to ascend.
For example, if you have UP of 20,000 Untrained Units a Day, and going to ascend for the 10th time (Ancient God) You'll need 1,099,999 trained units, therefore you can train up to 1,099,999 Supers for your ascension, if you train over 1 Million of units into supers, lets say 2,000,000 Supers you'll be losing 900,001 units, since you can not untrain them. however, if those 900,001 units were non-supers, you could untrain them in order to cover most of the Untrain units requirement.
I almost forgot to add, that I only use the supers in order to boost your rank, however since you'll need alot more naq in order to train the units to supers, it's probably best to have Non-supers for extra Naq, but if you recently ascended and want to boost your rank quickly, Supers may be an option to look into

just train the units you for ascending plus a little extra in supers and keep the rest normal or spy or something like that when you are on little ascending run. Why wassed more than needed if you are still a beginner and want to keep on ascending
