PM's in my Outbox

Why do PM's I try to send, sit in my outbox for days? Does the person I'm sending the PM to have to physically receive it by opening it before it leaves my outbox? Or am I doing something wrong?

They have to read it before it disappears from your outbox. Before they read it you can edit and even delete it if you choose.
