Trade Planets

I have noticed there is NO WAY to trade or give a planet. Only conquer. I think there should be a button where a CO or someone on SS could give a planet to someone without them having to attack it, waste AT, and damage the facilities on the planet. The CO would have to remove all defenses or the button would not appear. Similar to the conquer planet button if you are set to peace with that person.
Also if that option is implemented, it would elimate the need to change your dip status if the trade is mutual.

Yer because it is realistic to trade a planet...
"Hey, you want me to send a planet to you, I'll get my MS to tow it to your realm."

Thanks for the offer but no thanks. I have an empty planet slot on purpose. It allows me to either take one from someone as retribution or to explore and find one that I can sell or trade.

I agree its ok the way it is, admin already made it you can sell off planet defs, so that already makes trading a planet easy.

What I don't like is
#1: Having to change from peace to neutral if say it's my CO or Alliance members, or a friend in the game.
#2: Having to rebuild structures that are destroyed in the taking. It's inconvenient to sell off fleets to minimize damage!

I for one have only ever kept what my MS brings back

I have been watching some accounts closely and I know they are inactive but they have some decent planets too. But traded one with a friend recently and was just thinking how wrong it felt to actually have to attack them. I know a career soldier with morals? How can that happen?

agreed,
yr idea lonewolf will make ppl exploit that fair trade, they can build planets and once war they could be transfered to another account.

Didn't really look at it from that angle. Just feels wrong attacking a friend and was also thinking along the lines of allowing a CO to help out a Newbie that is very NEW.

Sad but true. Lithium is totally right on this one.

Hmm planets were not originally intended to be a tradable resource but the rarity of good duals made them so, even then the fact you could not sell planet defs made them difficult to trade, now you can sell planet defs, or just move a PDP at the click of a button ( Bad upgrades IMO ) trading planets as become far more common. Add to that the new option to buy duals from the game, if players put $$$ in to buying UU, they can always sell the UU and get some of there $$$ back, if admin want players to spend $$$ on planets then making them even more tradable ( giving people better resale value ) would encourage such purchases from the game so I guess this may happen sooner or later.
As someone who has learned from wars not to rely on planets I am not in favor of it.
